Areophobia
I thought SOAD stole the show at Leeds. The crowd were surprisingly really up for it, especially considering it had pissed it down all afternoon. I was wedged in between two huge circle pits and got covered in mud, but still loved it nonetheless!
lightning1000
They were a close second behind biffy for me. The pits were great, not too violent (like deftones), just really fun. Their sound was deafening too, best I've ever heard on the main stage.
Andre91
They were my number two as well after Biffy. The crowd was great, I was really surprised. Set highlight for me was Prison Song.
Areophobia
They seemed to really enjoy it too. I've saw a lot of their live sets from this year and they spoke a lot more at Leeds than they usually do.
Com Truise
SOAD were fucking amazing, I slipped helping my mate up though and was absolutely drenched in mud hahaha. What made me happy was at Leeds, at least, they all looked really happy on stage
lightning1000
Exactly, they looked like they were really enjoying being there, joking around on stage etc. Just a bit gutted they didn't play bounce, shimmy or Forrest. It's not like greenday needed that long for setup, the roadies were done after about 5 mins.
Com Truise
I actually proper grinned seeing them joke about, it's hopefully a good sign that they're all happy as a band now! And I wanted Bounce, but the set was brill nonetheless!
Shootenanny!
Thought SOAD were class at Leeds, looked like they were loving it. Watched some of their highlights from Reading online and didn't look like they were enjoying it quite as much, something which Serj hinted at on Saturday. Would love to see them make another album at some point and properly tour it over here.
devilman
Quickest hour I've ever known. It flew past. They smashed it. Best of the weekend by a country mile.

ToffeePopcorn
I was at Reading and you could tell system really didn't enjoy their set, shame, but was still amazing because... COME ON, IT'S SYSTEM?!

sjseabass
Yeah I agree they seemed a bit muted at Reading. Still freaking loved it though. PSYCHO GROUPIE COCAINE CRAZY. Enjoying Leeds seems like a good omen for a new album. Come on Serj, do it!
kev1664
It seems as though a few bands on the main were hinting that this year the leeds fans really seemed up for it, and that wasn't the type of bands who use it as a way to get the crowd going by saying "yesterday reading were awesome at this point but can you beat them" bullshit! I dunno what was up with reading this year. But Deftones and SOAD were both alluding to it. The crowd being up for city really seemed to rub off on all of the bands. I didn't see one band who didn't get the crowds full backing. Crowds to mention were ones Deftones, Skindred, SOAD, Fall out boy (unrecognisable from the last time they played in 09) Edited August 26, 2013 by kev1664

theramm
After seeing their set at Download 2011 my expectations for SOAD were set incredibly low, it was heartbreaking to see the band that were so incredibly on the Toxity tour reduced to a payday performance where they visibly hated one another. Their set at Leeds was the highlight of the Saturday & all 4 of them looked to be having as much fun as the people in the crowd, Serj was all over the place, messing about & being generally daft & they played with a rejuvenated enthusiasm. Why couldn't we get that at Download? Amazing.
evilduck
Surely the best bit was the guy nonchalantly crowdsurfing in his chair while reading a paper. They were genuinely great though, I screamed myself hoarse

BenMarshall
During the System Of A Down set at Reading, I can remember clearly a man in the mosh pit holding up a pole with a GoPro camera on. I was wondering if anyone else saw this and if the footage is out there, where I can see it?! I would love to see that footage!
Amy Lawn
Interesting you say that about FOB Kev. I remember in 09 Pete going on about people not liking them and that thus they were going to go away for a while?! Back then they were "uncool" yet to majority of 13's crowd they're probably nostalgic!
giantwagon
It was funny but you could tell the band were pissed off that we were laughing and cheering at something else and not getting engaged at that point in the set which was a shame as I was genuinely loving every minute!
