They've already managed to get SOAD to sub, I don't think they'll need to make it any more sturdy/expensive.

I think that looks pretty sturdy to be honest. Deftones deserve the push up and theres a lot of hype surrounding BMTH, giving them a chance higher up the line up. i reckon maybe between Deftones and BMTH they could add someone but i hope they don't.

I reckon Deftones will get 3rd ( and deservedly so)...but if a band was to slot in above them i cant imagine it being another heavy band (assuming SOAD, BMTH and Deftones were all on the same day)....I reckon it wouuld be something to break it up a bit but would still appeal to that audience..maybe Placebo..

I think Deftones will play third. I just can't understand why they would have the same band in the same slot on the same stage on the same day in 2011 and 2013, or why the band would agree to to that. At least a place higher is slightly different and some sort of progression. Also if they are on the SOAD day then I don't think they'll worry about Deftones maybe not being a good enough third band when SOAD are such a strong sub.

I don't think it's impossible for Deftones to stay at 4th instead of moving up but it's unlikely. However the bigger discussion point would be whether BMTH will play 4th or if some act can be shoehorned in between; like Wu Tang Clan or Jimmy Eat World or something.

Fifth main or subbing the tent seems about right for a shitty band yet one that is hyped/appeals to the kids. Are they really as popular as You Me At Six or Shikari? I think those two are at the next level of being shit but teenager-friendly.

Mainstream appeal with the likes of Green Day to keep day tickets going...Not necessarily saying Green Day are playing but i would think that a more mainstream band would fit on the friday to ensure its not catered to just one main demographic (as RATM/SOAD etc would be..).

Said before and I'll say again, they haven't pulled it out the bag for that. The band are not a R&L headliner, nowhere near on any scale. You had a shit load of people when they were heading download instead of subbing that complaining about it and that's their demo right there

Your memory's crazy. Noone questioned whether they could headline DL off the back off a reunion. SOAD as a sub is a coup, because while they would have been an incredibly weak headliner, there was a chance they might.

it's not. I remember plenty of people seeing the download 11 lineup and thinking shite. It wasn't on efestivals that I saw it.

I will tell you out and out with 100% guarantee that FATM as a sub last year was a much bigger than SOAD this year.

Download 2011 was shite but that was due to Deaf Leppard headlining again and a "monster sub" that turned out to be The Darkness. System was the highlight of the line up and without them that year there's a good chance it could flopped hugely.

to be honest, LP booking on Sunday also got a lot of shit to as people saw their new direction as not download.

SOAD was the highlight but I remember reading throughout the net, many didn't see them as returning to headline strong enough.

I like The Darkness to an extent so I'd have been fine with that, permission to land was great
