to be honest, LP booking on Sunday also got a lot of shit to as people saw their new direction as not download.

SOAD was the highlight but I remember reading throughout the net, many didn't see them as returning to headline strong enough.

I like The Darkness to an extent so I'd have been fine with that, permission to land was great

This is complete and utter sh!t. The SOAD reunion was massive for Download, the crowd they drew was huge, the reviews post performance were pretty much all excellent and people still talk about it as being one of the best Download performances.

As for Linkin Park people complained slightly but thats cos people like to complain. They still got a massive crowd also due to the fact LP will pretty much always have a place at Download as long as they keep playing some early material.

Def Leppard and The Darkness definitely were the spark for the majority of the complaints.

This guy knows what he's talking about.

And no one, not one person who was going to Download questioned if SOAD were big enough to headline. Simply put, they are. Reading have pulled off a miracle getting them to sub, hence why System have even been asked the question why agree to sub and them saying its cus of who's playing above us. They know that the act above them is bigger Id guess and with Soni off and Download headliners and subs set not much other choice for them left.

Its gotta be Sabbath or Green Day

no, but i wouldn't be surprised to see them there. Could go about 7th down.

On a similar thing, i see billy talent playing 6th down On main this year, nothing higher, Nme last year, not at download, better at reading anyway tbf imo. Would also not be surprised to see adtr back about 7th/maybe 6th?

Split them 3 over em and biffy day giving soad day fans something on other days too. Billy and adtr separate days thou as they last played one after another

Im a huge Billy Talent fan, but I think the new album is their worst. It seems to have no musical direction, the tracks don't grab you, it just seems like they took bits from the last two albums and tried to sound like Muse as well.

Billy Talent III is the best album they've done, the quality of the tracks on that album they deserved to break through and become a massive act here but they've stayed around the same level, I hope it happens for them one day.

Id gladly have them main stage this year though, and think they probably will. You say they're too big for Lock Up but their last tour was tiny venues and it didn't even sell out.
