Whats the chances of the libertines? I no its a long shot, but played the fest the year soad did.

They would be offering a world exclusive headline show. Two one off gigs, i know dirty pretty things like but for one wkend they need to get together. The amount of people who'd go to the other two days that would love it i imagine would be pretty high. And if blur can't ruled out and Green day are highly linked, the libs its majorly different.

3years since subbing, i admit no new material but reading crowd would go crazy.

Althou I've said that, some guy did say he'd heard them and the manics were playing roses London shows. Both would fit, a reason why no support has been said, may not be ready to announce

I couldn't see it. They had like a £1m-£1.5m pay day to do it last time and I doubt they'd come back for cheaper as, well, they haven't anywhere else in the past three years and I'm sure if they had been ready they would have. It wouldn't make sense to have 'two one off world exclusive shows' at the same place every three years. Plus, Babyshambles and Carl (not Dirty Pretty Things, that was a tweet blown well out of proportion) both have albums they've been working on out this year. Also I doubt SOAD know who they are.

Yeah, it was more to add a curveball really, i don't actually think it will happen. i think two gigs at London is possible, some town and they will know the stone roses. If the roses ask you to support them, chances are you'll say yes, that way, no new album would be needed or anything. Tickets got purchased purely on the basis the roses were there. Tons of people didn't give a crap about plan b at heaton park.

With the money side, weren't the libs paid more than arcade fire and actuall a headline fee to sub last time anyway?, many said they subbed just in case Pete didn't make it or something, would be shit a header didn't turn up rather than a sub etc. But either way, it'd be same price pretty much and slot higher so more for your money, but as i say, i agree its the further over unlikely

Think Metallica, don't know why. Just got a sneaking suspicion they'll play. But want Green Day. Personally don't think it's as likely as most people say it is. After playing last year. But if they play I'd want the setlist to not be too Uno-Dos-Tre heavy. They were shocking! I'm thinking more likely to play next year. 2014, ten years after American idiot and play it in full

Why would The Libertines, a band that can currently pick up a massive pay cheque where ever they go, decide to turn down the chance to play their own gigs, in favour of supporting someone?

Why would Manic Street Preachers, who sold out The o2 the last time they played in England, who have one of the most dedicated fanbases in the industry, who have built up demand while they were away, who have openly talked of their derision of reunions, decide to make their comeback gig as not even main support to The Stone Roses, a reunited band

A good method to get into is to think through things from every angle.

Wish he'd do a proper UK tour, rather than a couple of London dates, I'd be willing to pay the £50-£70 if he came to Sheffield. Went all the way down to Birmingham to see him and Jay-Z on the WTT tour, £55 ticket, about £50 for trains, £50 for hotel, £40 tour tee... Never again, but it was worth it, don't think any gig I ever go to again could beat what I saw that night.

Why would The Libertines, a band that can currently pick up a massive pay cheque where ever they go, decide to turn down the chance to play their own gigs, in favour of supporting someone? And why would Ian Brown in particular, a man very vocal over his supports being down to him, pick Peter Doherty, a man who he sued for lyric stealing? Why would Manic Street Preachers, who sold out The o2 the last time they played in England, who have one of the most dedicated fanbases in the industry, who have built up demand while they were away, who have openly talked of their derision of reunions, decide to make their comeback gig as not even main support to The Stone Roses, a reunited band. Why would Manic Street Preachers choose to appear under The Libertines, when one of Peter's first actions in national press was to criticise them for "being completely irrelevant"? A good method to get into is to think through things from every angle.
