Campervan Awning Question..

Four of us have weekend camping tickets and a campervan slot.

I know the info says no tents in the 6mx6m slot for a campervan, but fitting four into an old VW camper may be a squeeze, does anyone know if you are allowed to erect the awning off the side of the van to give you more room (as long as it is within the slot and only has four people in of course)? Have people seen this at the festival?

Took my caravan last year with a full awning that doubled the size of the caravan and no problems. Also had a small tent alongside - all fitted in the permitted area.

Before that I had a trailer tent that had a double awning extension - again no problems.

Lots of people have awnings. It's just a matter of talking nicely to the stewards and being reasonable.

yep, VWs with awings are fine, and exceedingly likely to be within the 6x6m space (I've not seen an awning that would exceed it, but I guess they exist).
