Andy0808 v3.0
If push comes to shove and they need to replace Beyonce, chances are it's not going to be a female singer. They'll draft someone in who is either free at the time, on tour within Europe or the UK and is popular right now. Kelly Clarkson headlining V would be the death of it. daniel.k
If Kelly Clarkson was on the line up somewhere it wouldn't be too bad but I just think not a headliner. Why do you think they wouldn't go for a female solo singer
Pothuthic
I don't think Kelly would be the death of it, I think people would be pissed, but wouldn't be the death of V at all, they could always push up The Script and have Kelly sub
daniel.k
I know The Script are big but I don't see them headlining thus year or any year. Smaller festivals maybe but not V
Andy0808 v3.0
I'm not saying they would 100% not replace her with a female solo singer, but they can't look to replace her with a solo singer if none of them are touring or around. daniel.k
True but I think female singers will be top of their list, with bands or pop groups lower. But yeah your fully right they are limited to money and schedule. I think a mix of the two things would get a new headliner if it was needed. On a similar note, has there ever been any leaks saying how much headliners or sub acts got from V or similar tests. I know I read somewhere glasto doesn't really pay more than £250,

Gucci Piggy
I'm pretty sure the Roses just wanted to maximise sales of their live DVD.
Rose-Colored Boy
So Bey's set isn't being televised?
daniel.k
I want people to see beyonces performance so I can say yeah i was there :-)
Rose-Colored Boy
Unless I've misunderstood it's weird she's being a prune about it being televised. Glastonbury did wonders for her reputation. Unless she thinks she can't live up to that...?
daniel.k
I would have thought it will be televised, either live or in highlights afterwards. It would be foolish of V to get Beyonce and then not show it off. But there again its V we are talking about and so we cant rule out the fact they wont show it

Rose-Colored Boy
Even if it sold out?
daniel.k
Bonce will not be on tv, I garentee that, else, as a European exclusive, V would be closing there live tv coverage of the fest with her. They don't want to pay the extra for people at home who ain't bought a ticket

Rose-Colored Boy
The most I can find of archive TV footage of V on YouTube is about three editions of The Killers singing the same song, and an interview with Katy Perry. You can kind of see why it doesn't have the mainstream hype of Glasto/Radio 1's Big Weekend etc. when the TV coverage is like that. And of course this year T4 is dead, so they probably won't even have presenters on site doing links, just an hour of highlights at 2am on the following Tuesday. daniel.k
People sat at home watching on 4music are even less thought of than us mugs who buy the tickets. They've got her to sell tickets, why worry about televising it, more expense for no reason
thesecretingredientiscrime
So they wouldnt get more money from 4Music for showing Beyonce's only European Festival? Im not familiar with the TV Schedule for V, is it usually on 4Music as they have the second stage? Do they only show one night or both? daniel.k
Do the acts get to choose if they want to be televised or is it just down to V
