I'm going to make the suggestion that it's just a generic time put in there either as a placesaver or to show that shortly after midnight prices will update from the 2012 ones to the 2013 price.

The presale is advertised as ending on Sunday, so either that time will be changed to 7.15pm Monday nearer the time and you won't be able to buy tickets in the general sale until the evening or unlike previous years there won't be a period where tickets are unavailable and a big release at the time of the announcement, the presale will just run straight into the general sale and you'll be able to buy tickets all the way through the day.

Either way I'll wager the announcement will be by Annie Mac as originally planned and that this thread is bollocks.

Ok so just to clarify, you can't put bands up as rumours even if you know because you need to protect the source? I guess that's cool, but was it always like that?

There's occasions I get to know stuff but the info comes to me only after i've promised not to use it. The occasions of this are very rare.

Often, info comes to me but it's not used here until a period of time afterwards, to help hide the source. I've always had to work things this way.

I just seem to remember efests having a lot more strong rumours / tbcs, did it used to be more independent where you didn't have to protect sources? Also, would a SR on efests really be seen as a leak to official organisers? How would they know who told you?

this year has been pretty damned shite for getting info; whether it's a one-off or it's how the future will always be I don't yet know. But a part of it has definitely been caused by some festivals getting stricter with acts they book about what they're permitted to say.

Because I've often little idea of how widely a particular nugget of info has been spread, then using that info always stands a chance of the source of that info being exposed - hence the delay in me using it sometimes. The longer it's left before being used then the less chance there is of it being pinned down to one particular person - because if one person has been told then it's likely that others are being told too.

What happens if you're given info that you are hit allowed to use. But then you hear that info from another source, would you still be unable to use the info as a result the lack of trust that it would bring from source 1?

if I get the same info from somewhere else I can use the info from somewhere else. :)

The sorts of sources that give me info I can't use are regulars, who I've built some trust with.

So I'm guessing you do know the 3rd headliner

nope, I really don't.

Whether I get to hear stuff often comes down to right-place/right-time for my sources. That means that what I get varies year to year, and this has certainly been one of the more lean years all-round.

I'm trying just as hard to find out the 3rd Glastonbury headliner, but with similar poor luck. What's amusing about that tho is that I know exactly who Eavis has lined up for 2014.

(that 2014 Glasto info I am holding back, purely for the reason that it has no relevance until after this year's fest).

It might not be relevant but it would be excellent pub talk! Is it just the one headliner you know or all 3?

all three.

History gets to show that who Eavis might have lined up long in advance doesn't always happen, so the fact of them having verbal agreements to do it right now doesn't mean they'll actually happen in the end.

Of those three tho, I know the bandmembers of two are very keen so I think they're likely to happen. The third one I reckon might well change tho.
