Well if you've done your research and still consider them lad rock that's makes your assessment even worse. As for your google definition, what kind of proof is that? It's just an opinion on the internet tha. And they headlined Creamfields because they've never really stuck to one specific genre, have experimented with their sound and have the ability to turn out stuff that can be mildly indie/dance crossover.

Although to be honest I think 'lad rock' is one of those terms like hipster that means something different depending on your age. 'Lad rock' as a term was something that came about specifically when 'lad culture' was prevalent as a buzz word in the media in the mid/late nineties and came to define music like Oasis, Cast, OCS, etc. In theory that 'lad culture' doesn't really exist anymore, it's probably morphed into something like 'bloke culture' and the band closest to to those other bands are probably The Courteeners. I can understand that teenagers nowadays don't have that original 'lad culture' and the associated bands as a reference point so the term just becomes a way to describe a band of males that appeals to other males and who don't apparently take their craft too seriously, rather than describing a specific sound.

At the end of the day, many people who are "lads" and like oasis, arctics etc, also like kasabian. Music aside I think that's where the association comes from. That and their cocky like "let's say we're the best band in the world and criticise other bands to nme" attitude

The sort of people who I know who go to creamfields though are the type that don't like rock at all, they like oasis, and that's about it, these are the types that think foo fighters and green day are death metal! The reason they appeal to that sort of crowd is because of the way they portray themselves to the public.

Kasabian have done some decent experimental stuff, but I would say they appeal to that type if market, moreso than other bands would, therefore can be classed as 'lad rock'.
