Babyquack
Indeed. People talk about him sulking through his set, but I'm willing to bet if it hadn't been for him kicking off noone would have accused him of such. I'm trying to avoid making assumptions, whatever the cause, both sides could have communicated better, but I think it's ridiculous for those of us who've just read the odd offhand comment from members of 2 bands to start making judgements when really we know jack all about it. kipper64
Well that was mainly my point. I can understand frustrations on both sides, and I wouldn't judge either based on what little we know. Only people I'd blame are FR for failing to accommodate both bands, as that's essentially their job, which meant fans lost out. The setlist argument is silly. NIN's setlist at Leeds seemed thrown together last minute, lack of new songs, etc.. Reading's had more new stuff and was closer to the touring setlist NIN done everywhere else, and it only had a few new songs, but it seems people automatically assume more old stuff ='s better and he purposefully gave reading a worse set to spite someone, despite the fact it was somewhat similar to what everyone else got....bar Leeds. kaosmark2
This is it really ^^. Why do we have to come back to this? It only causes arguments! Haha.

jump
Just the general shit dressed up as an impassioned speech; "our new album is called Fall Out Boy Save Rock and Roll, and people ask me what is that? Rock and roll is a feeling - you can't describe it, <band that played earlier> is rock and roll, (audience cheers) <band playing later> is rock and roll, (audience cheers) Reading festival is rock and roll, (audience cheers) and you guys here who've made it all this way to Reading festival today, you are rock and roll! (massive cheers, people explode) This is our next song <inexplicably lengthy titled anthem for bedwetters>."
mrtourette
Reading that has brought a tear to my eye. Trent must have been jealous.
Com Truise
This was not the case with me, I thought he looked quite pissed off during the set and when he walked off. Probably due to the 'Mon the Biff' chants from the front of the crowd at Leeds. They sort of ruined it for me
kaosmark2
The lack of well known hits is what make people think he was doing it to piss people off.
Com Truise
Which if you know how NIN mess about with setlists and don't tend to worry about catering to fans of specific singles, is actually a bollocks argument.
justanothername
I wouldn't have guessed anything was wrong til after the festival when we found out, I thought the performance was great and he just seemed like, well, Trent
Muppetmark
I thought it was really good! I really enjoyed it. Especially when this guys comes up to me telling me I awesome for singing along to NIN and I'm 16. Had a nice chat with him about how stupid my mates were for going to Disclosure instead. I do feel sorry for Trent a bit. Were I was for FOB, people were booing them when Pete asked if they excited for NIN but from where I was standing people only knew the words to Save Rock N Roll songs and nothing else. This girl also gave me a look of "What are you thinking" when I asked her if she was going to see NIN.

jonodillieono
I seemed to be the only one around me to even know what Dance Dance was (and I was near the front), I'm pretty sure that's one of their biggest songs and has so much radioplay etc. It was so strange, it was like going to a Muse concert and nobody knowing Super Massive Black Hole (Muse haven't been mentioned in a while so thought the name needed throwing in)
