this is a bit dear but I have had one since 2009 and it has been used at 20 odd festivals inc 8 Glastonbury. Dream machine for tents, booze and a bench seat at the tent. The business.

We’ve got one of those and I’ll admit it is absolutely the business but we’ve changed our car and can’t seem to fit it in now without getting rid of some of the stuff we would like to use it for.  How do you manage it - have you found a way of breaking it down without a ridiculous amount of time spent on the rebuild?

I sold my smaller trolley and upgraded to one of these beasts. A bit expensive but it'll hold a couple of tents and all the booze in one trip. The sides fold down and it fits into my Peugeot 307 easily...with the seats down of course.

I know what you mean. I take the handle off and turn it upside down with the flaps reversed so they are same side as the wheels. Slide it in wheels up. This allows you to put stuff ‘inside’ as it were. Can get it into the back of a Golf with the 2 seats in the back down. So you can only get 3 passengers in but we manage to get all the kit and booze in.

Thanks for your help. I think we’ve found the problem .  4 of us drive down together so we can’t put the seats down.   Might actually get one (or two) of the passengers to get a coach without having to carry anything much.  Might not cost much more than buying another quality trolley if we do it right. All assuming any of us get tickets obviously.

Edited to say that no, I’m not crazy.  While we all traditionally travel from Sheffield our 2 back-seat passengers (daughter and partner) travel to us from Ireland.  It may be cheaper for them to fly closer to the site and then then a coach/train/whatever from there.

Halfords have got groundhog pegs on sale. 8 for £2.50. Having recently tried to get normal pegs into dry stony ground and succeed in only bending them all I wished I'd had a few of these in my bag.

I see that you've moved on from late night bikini porn! lol  Those do indeed look the part. I've lost track of how many bent normal tent pegs I've got. I somehow can't seem to be parted from them. They are about as useful as a balloon or holding anything down, but still they've got to stay. Everynow and again, I get a lump hammer out and straighten them, while under my breath saying 'You will work, you will work, you little bastards!'. It is never the case though. Once back in the bag with the 'hard knock' tent pegs that actually work, they just mentally disintegrate, and start dreaming of having been used to make tea pots instead. So, then you take them out of the bag, again, put them in your one hand, and bash their little heads with a hammer in to the ground. Only this doesn't happen. Instead their structural integrity resembles that of Bambi's legs,and they buckle in a spectacularly spastic fashion.

So, yes, the above pegs seem like they may be the business.

Excuse me.

Have a look at these bad boys. Not cheap but they look like the canines knackers to me.

Covered in the, admittedly, not initially promising sounding page of "tent pegs explained"

Be careful out there. You can come across (yes, I did actually say that.) the wrong stuff you know. One minute your just one of life's puerile perverts looking 'stuff' up, and the next your trying to fully comprehend stuff like this;

Think mine is 65l with a capacity to expand - Go Outdoors had a great sale on them a few weeks ago.

Yeah, mine's a second hander from family but I think it's a 65l. I find that I can get 5 days' worth of gear in there without the need for a second bag, IF I'm taking spirits.  If cider/beer is involved then it needs a front loader just for booze :D

And that's a change of top, socks & undercrackers for every day, waterproofs, sleeping mat & bag, wash stuff& loo roll, plus a few other bits & bobs.  Tent is either a hand carry or strapped onto the bag.
