The camping essentials - I've found a bargain which you all need to know about thread...

I'm about a 4.5 so had to go for a size 5 and they're a decent fit considering they are a wee bit big, fine with thick socks. They feel a bit tighter in the calf than my Dunlop wellies but that could just be that they come a bit further up my legs.

I bought one of these last week and I think it's amazing value for the price. The extra drawstring at the top is an extension for the extra 10 litres (you'll note the label at the bottom of the rucksack that says '90+10'), so if you don't need the extra 10 litres you just tie off at the first drawstring for 90 litres, but if you take the kitchen sink, like I do, you can keep on filling past the 1st string and tie off at the second one for 100 litres.

I really can't see anybody being disappointed with this for £17, the only problem I can see is that some people might think it's too big!

Ive had mine for 5 years now. Its brilliant. Lots of clips and things to strap stuff to on the outside as well. It van be tempting to really fill it though - it gets blimmin heavy!

Totally agree, pack of those tissues and then some of the wet toilet wipes and you're sorted, way easier to pack than rolls of loo paper.

This x1000

There is absolutely no point dragging big loo rolls around all day. A pack of those tissues disappears into a cargo short pocket, no problem.

Been looking for those Andrex packs in the shops but only seen them online where they seemed a bit too expensive. Would buy them if I saw them somewhere though.

They used to do them in Sainbury's, but not any more. Shame - they were handy last time. I'll go for tissues this time, maybe with balm, as I intend to eat burritos and goat curry.

Tesco was selling them at 1p a pack last year, not seen them in there since then http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/andrex-go-toilet-roll-55-sheet-pack-scans-1p-tesco-1115741

Tesco last night had 15L water carriers for £3.99, and as well as the 'normal' £3.60 camping chairs they had 'Value' camping chairs for £2.60! Also folding tripod stools for £1.80 (think this may have already been mentioned).

Oh, they also have battery operated air pumps on offer at £5.45 (I think, might be a few pence either way) that take 4 x 'D' cell batteries and would probably take up less space than a foot pump (but might be a bit heavier including the batteries).

I think i may brave the Aldi special for the self inflating mat... still undecided on what to get. Saw a double one that rolls up to the size of a roll mat. Thought that would be handy due to the coach, meaning more room for cider!

I've decided to (belatedly) make the move from wellies to walking boots and gaiters this year. Now I just need to find somewhere that sells decent ones in a size 14! Easier said than done from past experience!
