Anyone come across any tent (3/4 man) dor walking boot bargains lately?

Want to get all my gear sorted by the end of the week

Someone posted up these tents the other day - http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/184219-what-have-you-done-today-to-get-ready-for-glasto/?p=4381632

I'd probably go for the Gelert, but that's just me.

I've been thinking about getting one of these and a pop up shower tent. Any opinions on how practical this would be? How did you use yours?

I bought one of these for 2013 and it was brilliant. Didnt bother with a shower tent thou. (bikini top and shorts job lol)

3/4 filled it the night before with cold (so it wouldnt be ICE cold from the tap the next morning) then boiled a kettle on the stove. This meant it was just the right temperature for washing body and hair. Wouldnt go camping without it now.

Was a little bulky to carry but very light. Well worth the money!

Well to be honest it was more hair washing than full on all over. It's ok, but not loads of pressure.

I think to trick to the pressure being good is to not fill it to the top. (i think i left a good 4 inches of air gap before putting the lid on)

The shower was bought just for me, (im the girl who hangs out with just the boys) they were taking the mick out of me, but by Friday/Saturday they all had used it and said it was brill!

We've got a ring battery powered shower (takes 4 D batteries) and a pop up shower tent from decathlon last year. Was brilliant, tent really easy to pop up and down takes v little room. Boiled up some water on the stove and each person used less than half a bucket for shower (including washing my long hair). If you've got a collapsible bucket takes next to no room to pack. Pressure is pretty good too.

There is a youtube video of the type of shower in action (not mine) http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-93rW33ijk0

Went to Asda and got me two of these external battery banks for £24 52000mwA storage each so should provide 2 full charges for my HTC One per pack... I could probably squeeze 5 full charges out of them combined.

http://direct.asda.com/Portable-Power-Bank/000513830,default,pd.html

I did some research and it appears to be just a repackaged

http://www.amazon.com/PowerGen%C2%AE-5200mAh-External-Battery-Capacity/dp/B005VBNYDS/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Which has over 1,000 reviews averaging at 4.5stars so I think I did a good purchase here. The only difference appears to be you get less cables (only USB to Mini USB provided) and no LED torch on the unit. All the other specs are identical.

So for £24 you get 10,400mAh and you will end up with two devices.

And if you'd gone for the one I recommended a fair few pages ago (which is but £2 more expensive) you will get 10,000mAh for £26 and just one device to carry around. :sarcastic:

Aldi have some for £17. Tried them out walking the dog. Very comfortable but need an inner sole.

Sports direct have Dunlop wellies for a tenner online.

1) the 2 devices combined are smaller than that one

2) It was cheaper

3) I can store more power

4) I didn't have to wait in for delivery

5) I got a sandwich with the money I saved

6) Less waste (packaging)

7) I can carry one at a time

8 - I can give one to my friend and leave him with it and wont have to worry about losing my charge (not that I'll need to but it's more flexible)

9 - You can in theory get one on the way to Glastonbury as it's on store shelves for £12

So overall: More power per £, Smaller single device with less weight, More convenient & More Flexible ^.^

I mean if it was the same size as your device I'd understand your point about multiple devices but as it it's no bigger than a funsize marsbar

So yes I think it's a find worth sharing.

Put like that I think you're probably right. :girlinlove:

:) hehe I was going to get the one you recommended, I didn't put any thought into it, I was just in Asda and saw them sitting there and saw the storage and went 'ah fuck it'. I'm super lazy in nature so probably would've left it too late otherwise because I'm even too lazy to shop online ^.^
