dan05delaney
The full post as copied from the thread.... Right...to save repeat thread syndrome...I have gone a bit of a harvest and have collated a list to end all lists. Its sort of in order and lists everything that has been suggested to take to a fest since 2003.BASICALLY...it is pretty much everything/anything you could possibly need or want to take to Glasto, or any fest for that matter...it is NOT a list that needs to be utterly adhered to...merely an extremely long check list for one and all to tick off against! There are the usual things then there are additional tranklements that are not necessarily needed.PLEASE dont do a quote in reply if possible cos once you see the size of this list you will see why. Hope that helps...PLEASE DONT QUOTE ENTIRE LIST!!!! Ta and happy packing peeps! .......................................................................................................................EDITED: 2nd Jan 2010 cos of a recent bump that warranted the following...!OK...just to let you know...before any more comments come once again...cos they do cos this thread is now at least 2 or 3 years old... it's a list to help to refer to for ideas for what to pack NOT to adher to. I for one certainly do not take all this (now!)...it is a GUIDE, a ticklist for ideas and now in these more frugal and credit crunchy days its madness to consider taking anything more than you REALLY need.Last year there were trinkets galore at (some that never even made it out of the packaging) and those that did, a lot were silly and pointless and unceremoneously binned/dumped on the Monday. Yes its a festy and yes its nice to have lights and dangly things on sticks and a whole plethora of shit bought in a mad panic at Poundland in the approaching days BUT...how's about this year considering SAVING your money AND Glasto binbag space on seriously only bringing what you really need. The £20 wasted at Poundland on tat is far better spent on cider! Who needs cheapo crap lanterns and plastic windmills when you can have another pint of H&S instead!?!And failing that...consider talking to each other beforehand to organise equipment shares? Less to carry on site and no need for everyone bringing the same shit if you are all camping together eh? Since 09 us Brits have been getting good at being thrifty and make-do...is it possible that Efesters can at the G this year?

Kyelo
You can literally get away with nothing but your ticket, a bank card and the clothes you are wearing! Anyway here is my list...On my person: Clothes I am wearing, boots, my festival phone(doesn't need charged for 7 days), mp3 player and in my Wallet: money, ticket, bus and plane tickets, bank card and ID(driving license). I will also carry a 4 pack of drink so I don't need to open my main supply in the queues.Backpack inside: 1 pair of shorts, 1 pair of jeans, 5 t-shirts, 1 hoody, 1 jacket, 5 pairs of boxers and socks, trainers, torch/lantern combi, duct tape, black bags, empty 2 litre bottle, a groundsheet large enough to cover my tent and in my Toiletry Bag: toothbrush, toothpaste*, mouth wash*, face wash*, shampoo*, hair products*, moisturizer*, Vaseline*(*all miniature), sun screen, Berocca and a small mirror. Backpack outside: sleeping bag, Tesco value pillow(rolled up in a small tube when purchased)and self inflating sleeping mat. 2 Hemp Type Tesco Bags: as much drink as they will carry then stitched at the top with a lace. My tent would be on the outside but I'm thinking about collecting it from Cosy Camper on site.

My sleeping bag is the thing I most want to protect and keep dry. Curious about other people's clothes packing too - just how many changes of clothing do people take? The hiker in me thinks I only, really, need one set of clothes, but then I remember that I'm camping in a field with 200,000 people and not up a mountain where nobody can smell me. charl0tte90
I think that the list from the other thread is WAY too much. I just take what I need. I've learnt from past festivals what I really don't need. Saying that I'll probably pack too much again! I'm pretty much following this list this year http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/advice/packing-list But also including: Bug spray Make up Hairbrush Mirror Welly socks Dry shampoo Tote bag (to carry booze/essentials around site) Edited April 5, 2013 by charl0tte90

lucyginger
I always put my sleeping bag in a bin bag in my rucksack. In fact, I put everything in bin bags in my rucksack! My top tip: bin bags. You can wear it as a poncho, sit on it, put stuff in it.... so very useful!

LusciousLucy
No chance mate. My Note is my phone and camera and alarm and address book. Shitty tiny phone I have no idea how to use having been using smart phones for 4 years is a pointless venture. With the number of texts bouncing back between Festival Family, knowing who is saying hello with a name attached is much easier than bouncing back reply texts with 'Who is this?' as most folk expect to be flagged up on smartphones and thus dont use their name at the end of a text...anyway...using a wee phone that is years behind modern technology doesnt make sense. £40 investment in powerpack which will be used and used and used again on many further adventures makes a lot more sense. You do know that with a click of a button you can have your contacts on your sim? ie with a name on the shitty phone? Fair enough though Way I see it with a cheap phone is... no fear of it being lost, stolen or damaged waste no time charging at all texts and calls at festivals normally involve "meet here", even the simplest of people can manage that on 'dated technology'

This is the advantage of being a miserable old sod with few friends. I will take an old phone and I will store in memory (mine, not its) the one phone number I will use. Nobody will text me. I would buy a phone without sms, if I could, just to save the weight.
