Meh, you're pessimists :) I wear my walking boots all weekend when it's muddy there - when it's not, it's trainers all the way. This will be my 14th Glastonbury and I'm yet to own a pair of wellies and I'm also yet to get wet feet! Worst case, I'll grab the boots from the car on the second beer run. Anyway, I'll report back next week on the outcome of the decision, I'm keeping the faith, it will be dry ;)

Just a *smidge* less optimistic. However, still an amazing forecast:

Summary

From a synoptic point of view, good agreement in high pressure building to around 1030mb. GFS thoughts of dropping the pressure before next weekend seems to have been followed.

Still mostly Dry, with rainfall likely to be under 10mm, with Thursday and Friday, looking a little bit damper than suggested in recent days.

The festival looks like starting on a sunny note, turning a bit cloudier on Thursday afternoon, thereafter, the best of any brighter/sunny spells into the afternoon.

Temps looking good as well, high teens to low 20s, possibly a bit warmer into the weekend.

Ratings :-

Yesterday in brackets

Festival Dryness (0= washout, 10=dry) 7/10 (7.5/10) Some rain Thursday and possibly Friday, but total rainfall over the festival looking quite small including over the weekend.

Ground Mudbath Rating (0=mudbath, 10 = dustbowl) 7/10 (8/10) Currently the ground looks dry, and it should stand up to the small rainfall amounts expected during the festival.

Heatwave rating (0 = freezing, 10 = heatwave), 7/10 (7/10) With upper air temps set to rise, Temps are set to be in the 20s, perhaps mid 20s over the weekend.

Newspaper Taglines

To sum up in 4 words, Mostly Dry and Warm.

It is Looking mostly Dry and settled, although a little rain Thursday / Friday, a good amount of bright / sunny weather can be expected especially towards the end of most days, and quite warm in any sunshine, perhaps very warm over the weekend. Still bring those hired wellies and a brolly just in case.

I love this weather forum. It's a favourite part of my build up to the festival. So thank you Jackone and the other weather scientists for attaching those fantastic weather model graphics and for everyone else with your always insightful posts. This time tomorrow I will be having a lovely pint of Brothers while most likely sat on the ground. Cheers :)

Bigdog has been for his final walk before you all make complete tits of yourselves. He ate too much grass on a walk with his mum, because dad was picking up one of the other kids, and threw up in the G car park. He wishes you all a fantastic festival and predicts, through science and extensive area sensors, that you will all spend a lot of time getting too hot, panting and enjoying lots of smells.

check out this big nose, have a great weekend. Don't forget your sunscreen.

Looks like the weather is taking a turn for the worse, if you check the BBC site. Looks like tomorrow is going to be the best day and then colder, cloudier and rain. Perhaps not a mud bath but far from the heatwave everyone is talking about. Make sure you take some warm clothes and perhaps don't leave the willies behind - they may well be needed!
