Aye 07 we knew well over a week before. As I remember there'd been an early burst of summer but by June things had gone downhill and low after wet low went across us all summer.

By this point we knew it'd be wet, was just praying to be between lows from here on in

I'm loving the blind optimism. No insult intended, just commenting on what we've all agreed so far which is the observable facts don't necessarily have anything to do with what may be the observable reality... Or at least I hope so.

Shrodingers Cat springs to mind

The english are so good at whinging. Have you seen what's been going on in the continent?

We live in a lush green country because of the rain and sun mix we get. every festival has had some rain and sun, excluding the few extreme ones.

So yes - we can be glad it's reasonable weather and not be mental demanding wall-to-wall sunshine - if you want that do benicassim, you're at the wrong festival.

Weather Online's Monthly Outlook:

*23/06/13 to 29/06/13*

It is during this period that changes may start to occur. Through the early part of the week conditions may be staying fairly unsettled with a risk of rain, showers and some brisk winds. We do not expect a washout with most of the rain only light to moderate, and most through more northern and western areas.

Pressure will be building from the south easterly in the week and this will bring more settled weather. This is going to be edging northwards with many areas then dry and increasingly sunny. It will be feeling warmer too.

Rain may continues to affect northern and western Scotland at times, although the east and south will be drier.

Whilst not hot, temperatures in the south should be turning warmer.

*30/06/13......06/07/13*

Pressure may stay fairly high through this period over most of the UK and Ireland,

This should lead to mainly fair conditions with some good spells of sunshine. Remaining warm too, and perhaps even becoming hot through central and southern areas. Some fog may drift onto eastern coasts.

Later in the week there is the threat of some thundery rain moving into southern parts of England, this then edging northwards, introducing more changeable conditions. However, most of the northern 2/3rds of the country stay dry.

As difficult as 2007 was, we still stayed to the end. No way am i missing the best event of the year and 'bailing' like a little girl. It did put us off for a couple of years, mainly because the kids wanted us to take them and we didn't fancy braving the Somme with a couple of young 'uns. We returned (with kids) for 2010 and 11 though and were rewarded with beaucoup de soleil. Reckon it was positive karma after tramping through a muddy lake at 4am on Monday morning in 2007 to get a soggy coach home.

Besides r**n = in a tent with a beer watching a band, sun = laying on the grass with a beer watching a band. Win = win..!

The 12z GFS ensembles are like a shot of mamma's finest high-grade crack cocaine up the nostrils

This may change plenty in the future of course, but for the worriers take a brief bask in that. It almost pushed me off the excitement scale for a moment there before I got a grip on reality again.

ps. if someone can give me better coordinates for the festival site that would be just ace, cheers m'dears

scratch that, blew myself away by clicking somewhat further south than the festival :( sorry for any over excitement - it's still not too bad, but almost wet myself there
