The two sets that immediately spring to mind are (Leeds) :-

QOTSA in 2008 - The epitime of dull. The band didn't want to be there & were just getting paid. Awful

Blink 182 in 2010 - The crowd had already decided they were going to be good but for the casual fan all you had were 3 people who obivously hated each other playing very badly. Blokes pushing 40 making unfunny knob gags was cringeworthy.

Really enjoyed The Offspring personally..

Probably get a lot of stick for this but I checked out Arcade Fire in 2010 & thought they were boring & shit. Watched about 5 or 6 songs & walked off to go see Ash.

GnR I thought were decent with the exception of Axl.. You know.. The main bloke.. So that ruined them for me.

BMTH I think are shockingly bad live every single time but I was forced to see them in 2011 & the Strokes were also just as bad

That was reading, after that they started drinking and didn't stop until they went on stage at Leeds absolutely fucked. They were a shambles and josh was mumbling and slurring

I left after to 30 mins to watch ltj they were that bad. Been amazing every other time I've seen them though :)

They mixed waaaaay too much bass in yeah. Lights weren't that bad - that said I've never seen them indoors before. I thought the crowd rocked lol, second Plague kicked I was way back at the sound tower and EVERYONE was dancing and bouncing. Alice was Alice, I guess haah.

Luckily I'm pretty good at avoiding what I think will be shit sets, so the only one I've seen that I was really disappointed by was Arctic Monkeys in 09. Everyone who saw Crystal Castles last year instead of The Hives is silly. They were always going to be a bit crap in the open.

Its not just about the band though is it? If it was a set would be pretty much universally criticised.

Weather, the mood your in(either chilled or up for it), people around you etc etc.

Some people think its a great set if your being crushed half to death, others prefer it if they have the room to listen to the music rather than swaying side to side.
