Car park queues on Sunday night

Are the queues leaving the car park on Sunday night usually bad?

I went to Download for the day in 2010 to see AC/DC and we had to queue about 3 hours to leave. Is this still a problem nowadays?

Took fucking ages to get out last year, but that was largely due to being at the back of the car park and being forced to go the long way round to get out. If similar happens this year I'm moving the car Sunday morning to a spot near the main exit!

I don't think the weather helped last year the car park was a complete mess from all the rain

Never really had any trouble getting out the car parks, I've done a sly one before by weaving through the empty spaces instead of joining the back of the line and other times we've waiting till about 2am, use the time in between to have a nap before the drive

Yep, good time to have a little nap and avoid listening to Download FM. Stupid presenters were on making jokes about the traffic last year. Think it was an hour and half/two hours.

Unfortunately I have now got to the age where I see the camping side of "festivalling" as something that just has to be done so that I can attend the festival, rather than something I enjoy. I'll camp as few nights as possible. The only exception is Glastonbury, because there's so much to do after hours! There's bugger all to do at Download and Reading, so why bother staying the last night when the music is over? Just my opinion of course.

Haha good point! I'm not actually that bothered about drinking loads at festivals though. Just a personal preference.
