the wonderwhy
I think on here, people do go elsewhere, but there's only really 3 festival subforums that get much traffic, so Reading regulars tend to lurk here and moan even if they're not going. And if it's 8 small bands who are getting short sets it probably isn't. Particularly given the crowd may well not be up for it. And seriously, why read about people's opinions on the web if you get annoyed by moaning!
Com Truise
So £195, which is pretty good. That said, most of those are likely to get shorter sets than at their own shows, and I'd much rather see the smaller acts at a small venue than a fest anyway. Its not really that's its not good value for money, its just its really uninspiring (especially compared to last year) & there is a severe lack of options, especially in the evenings. dart
I hate this years lineup, I can't think of anything worse than Eminem and Green Day. While they're on I will be sat in my tent slowly becoming a living, breathing cider can. There's a few bands I'd pay for, but unlike last year I wont be going for the music. kaosmark2
Yup For me, I'd pay: Foals- £30 NIN- £40 Phoenix- £25 White Lies- £20 Editors- £20 Twin Atlantic- £15 Peace- £15 Deap Vally- £10 Tame Impala- £20 I probably wouldn't bother seeing Frank or System at their own shows. So £195, which is pretty good. That said, most of those are likely to get shorter sets than at their own shows, and I'd much rather see the smaller acts at a small venue than a fest anyway. lightning1000
Ok 50, so 2 extra songs at a push. Either way you're not getting a full gig except for 3 headliners and the subs depending who they are. Everyone else you're getting less than you would at their actual gig. kev1664
Although pretty much all the main stage bands and high NME get more than 40 mins
Asdaprice
yeah i think its safe to say if you dont like the lineup already and think its not worth going to, future announcements wont help. Saying that, 2009 i hated the initial announcement, but got a ticket anyway, and the future announcements really perked it up. Helped that Faith No More got announced though and I dont think we'll have any suprises like that. But yeah, still FR and Lock Up headliners and acts to be announced, and the bottom of main. I rarely care about NME and wont this year, but still, enough to keep me excited

Chinaski_
so far: NIN Tame Impala bit of Eminem (if he sucks, will go elsewhere) with the first year of a three day Lock Up I'm hoping for some strong bookings to entice me. FR, as ever, will have a few acts I want to see and lower NME will hopefully have some decent bookings.

Com Truise
inclined to agree. 3 dreadful headliners of basically children's music, what in god's name were they thinking. that's not even starting on the likes of Fallout Boy unless there's a few more decent bands announced soon I'm flogging my ticket and going to Latitude. I'll be lucky to get a fiver with the state of that lineup

DavidWM
Green Day are about as ancient as Barney the Dinosaur and have an audience that's about as mature.
Asdaprice
I'm guessing (and hoping) you bought an early bird ticket since you seem to hate the lineup an awful lot, but what exactly were you expecting? They've got three headliners who have all played the festival before, and who aren't dissimilar to a lot of previous headliners.
