2007 was pretty bad but was redeemed by Arcade Fire, NIN, Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jr.

Pretty much admitted that at the end of my post, I've grown out of R+L but i don't want to fully admit it because i've had some great weekends there, but the line up is just no longer for me anymore and no 70 minute NIN set is gonna change that!

Yeah I'm more inclined to do Glastonbury and small festivals - ArcTanGent and Truck come to mind.

Yeah I'm in the same boat, while after a bit of research I'll usually find interesting stuff in the FR and lower NME to occupy me it's rapidly becoming not worth the money. This year I'd rather spend £75 for two days at Truck and have the same amount of bands I'm interested in without having to drink shitty Tuborg. Goodness knows what I'll be like sat at home on August Bank Holiday weekend though, I'm dreading it.

I dunno if I could do it, sit at home on a bank holiday weekend, probably watching the highlights think I wish I was there. Over half a decade I will have been going for and I'd probably regret not going. I mean I could possibly try rock en seine or go on a holiday abroad, but to just sit at home I'd be gutted.

I've done 12 and yeah it's become routine. I've contemplated going away but spending the money to do that just to get out of Reading seems a waste, I might as well spend the money and go.

Truck should be good, I went last year and it was good. I'm bummed that it clashes with Latitude because I'd like to do both.

It's no so bad missing out, main thing is just go and hang out with some friends and make sure you don't pine for it. Have you done many other fests?

Half my friends will be at the festival, if I hang out with the other half it will be drinking in Reading town centre so it'll be even worse than sitting at home! I can sense a trip out of town to visit family coming on.

Haven't done any others for a long time, I've done Glasto, T and IOW in the past. Truck and Boardmasters will be a refreshing change.

Yeah it was a lazy habit to slip into, although helped by the fact that Reading is genuinely my favourite festival (or rather has been). Should probably have tried some smaller festivals way before now, better late than never I guess.

This year, without a doubt. Sub-Headliners are brilliant, but thats all we have going for us this year. Everything else sucks.

I really like 2007, NIN, Pumpkins, RHCP (who were crap but i always wanted to see them) Albert Hammond Jr, Interpol, Dino JR, Maps, KOL who were on fire, Arcade Fire, Jimmy Eat World, Biffy (In the tent) ...

The only bad thing about Y Not was the mud, it pissed it down thursday night and they didn't put much straw down at all nearly lost my wellies at Pigeon Detectives.

Make sure to visit the Dorset Smokery stand, £7 for a cob, but man are their bacon and brie cobs nice

This year's isn't as bad as people are saying, just that it's a bit bland. The Green Day day is very strong, and the Eminem day is pretty solid as well barring Chase & Status. The Biffy day is weak though, no way should The Lumineers and Hadouken! be that high.

A few mentions of 2009 and 2011. Both were pretty strong but all the bands seemed to be mixed up on different days.

Worst? 2007 followed by 2012. Weak, predictable and mainly comprised of crap!
