If she cancelled V she would surely have to cancel them dates, im no expert on pregnancy but if she was bad enough to pull out on the 17th, she would want to pull out 12 days earlier. Where did the rumours of her being the person responsible for the V announcement not going ahead start?

It's highly unlikely that Beyonce has pulled out of V Festival. She was performing three/four months into her pregnancy during her last album/tour.

Mumford & Sons wouldn't necessarily have to headline either, they seem to play during the afternoon at some festivals.

Whats the deal with Leeds/Reading? Are bands playing their not permitted to play other festivals during that time in the UK?

Charlie Simpson is also another good one for the afternoon. His solo stuff is really good!

Some of the suggestions on this site are great! Have a look at the 2nd announcements previously, what was last years?? Awful. Expect the same.

Beyonce was a massive booking for V and IF out (which Scottie doesn't seem to think she is), well it will be hard to replace her. It will be someone who is playing around that time or someone who doesn't have any new material. I'm guessing too they would look for someone of a similar genre too. Not many around.

Earlier up I saw someone say that Daft Punk would never play V.

They have played before you know, they headlined the arena when their debut album was released much like Lady Gaga on her debut.

I don't imagine they would fill in this year, but I could totally see Daft Punk as headliner next year if Glasto doesn't steal them.

2012 - Wretch 32, The Gossip, Sub Focus, Stooshe, Rita Ora, Childish Gambino, Angel, Cover Drive, Newton Faulkner, Cher Lloyd, The Feeling, The Rifles

Who do you think could be possibly be announced? (I don't mean replacing Beyonce)

I would love to see M83 there but i don't think they'll be appreciated by the majority. In light, the bands below are also free during 16th/17th August...

Foster The People, Blur, The Joy Formidable, Tom Petty, Charlie Simpson, Passion Pit, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Klaxons, The Maccabees, Bloc Party, Rizzle Kicks, Blondie, The Verve, Jamie T, Mystery Jets, Seasick Steve.

I just hope they don't end up booking anymore pop acts like Girls Aloud, The Saturdays or JLS playing one last time etc!

Have Seasick Steve and Mark Owen confirmed they are there? I must have missed that.

Kasabian could be a good call if KoL dropped out, but I cant see V replacing a solo female singer with a band when a band is headlining the other day. If Beyonce was out I could see V panicing alot and throwing money at someone like Florence or Gaga if she was healed. They could say Gaga is a European Exclusive as I dont think she is doing any other festival on account of her being injured

Or alternatively, given that V is a business which has already probably sold the number of tickets it needs to for it to be financially on track this year, the organisers could (and almost certainly will) just save a few hundred grand by getting somebody cheaper in.

But then face a lack of sales next year and a damaged reputation. Maybe but they should do whats right and get someone equally as good

But there again they havent sold out, so they might not just settle for second best when they ideally want to sell out the festival for both sites

V's reputation is already knackered. People look at it as the chav fest now don't they. This years line up has done nothing to improve its image. Going to come a time where credible artists won't do it due to the amount of X factor a bgt acts they have there

The undercard isn't that bad. Just because its more pop music than anything doesn't mean its cheap acts all the way through. Some acts are cheap but not all of them. What two day festival this year has a really strong undercard and great headliners

Just because they are not as popular and so dont charge as much doesnt mean they are bad acts though. Admittedly R&L has quite a few bands that I would have liked to see on the undercard here such as Bastille and Imagine Dragons but if they were on the undercard could you still call them cheap just because they are up and coming. If bands and their agents asked for too much they wouldnt get any dates so the money is still going far enough to have a reasonable undercard.

At least V doesnt have too many stages to try and fill, that would really water down the good acts that charge more money because V would have to pay less per band to make it stretch, so at least we are getting a fair mix
