Which fields flooded during the monsoon of 2005?

2007 was my first, it wasn't half testing at times, it still managed to hook me though.

Loved 2010's heat but there were moments again when it was testing, not being able to sleep past 7 and the relentless heat made for very little late night festivities.

I would take 10 over 07 any day though.

Seem to remember both 08 & 09 being good?

We always used to camp up around the middle of Pennards but in 05 we go there a bit late and ended up camping at the bottom. No worries though, it was absolutely scorching weather. I have pictures of the Thursday evening with my son and his mate putting towels over their heads to avoid the sunburn.

Woke up to my son shouting "You really need to see this Dad!" after apparently spending the good part of a half hour trying to raise me from the dead. As I sat up to unzip the tent I realized I was floating on my airbed. We were partially submerged and my lad and his friends tent were about half underwater, sister in law lost all her clothes, mate and his girlfriend went straight home.

All turned out ok in the end. We dragged the tents up the bank and put the stuff out to dry, me and the bro sorted out all the gear while the girls went off to watch bands. Mate bought some wet weather gear and wellies and returned to site and we all met up for (I think) The Killers at the end of the night, got mortally pissed and had a good laugh about it.

Remember my parents seeing it on the news and telling me when I got home that they had been worried. It was blown out of proportion, no? Not much was submerged in relation compared to the size of the glastonbury site. Do remember a river flowing through/under out tent and thinking WTF! (camped on hill behind Pyarmid stage)

2010 was my first festival since 2010 and realised how unfit I'd become in the intervening years as it was a real struggle in the heat especially when litter picking. Probably didn't help having too many ciders and beers on Thursday night and feeling rough Friday. I also tried to cram too much in and seemed to be going from one side of the site to the other. I remember watching gorillaz and admittedly they weren't brilliant abd after a couple of songs saying sod this I need my bed

A lot of talk about 2007. Sure it was tough, but I saw some incredible things that year that go down as some of my favourite things I've ever seen at Glastonbury. The line up from Super Furry Animals through to Bjork on the Other stage on Friday was superb, especially Ruthus Wainright and Arcade Fire. Then on Saturday I was blown away by Africa Express on the Park Stage.

One year I went and The Other Stage was flooded on the Friday and didn't start until later on. I remember that being a tough year. May not have been as much rain, but the site couldn't cope with it. I think it was the year Radiohead headlined the first time, as I went to see Primal Scream as they were in the Dance Tent, which was dry.

2005 was fine , I was at the top of pennards, something I initially grumbled about but tuned out to be a blessing.

2007 was pathetic in every way, I know you can't help the weather but the organisation and admin was scandalous and dangerous. I cut it short, saw half from the sanctuary of a Bristol hotel

Just as well I was in the tent when the rain started in 2005 - had made a school boy error by putting the ground sheet out slightly too far - so as soon as it started, it created a channel for water straight in to the tent. Quickly sorted it, but if we wouldn't have been there, it would have been a nightmare.

Agree with folks that the relentnesss nature of 2007 was much worse. I remember standing in a bar at the edge of Other stage on the saturday, it was really a thought to move (being completely wrecked from the night before), but could hear some ska music coming out of a tent, so made my way across the marsh towards dance area, caught a great ska set, set me up for the day, back on tracks for a brilliant saturday, but it rained all night and when we ventured out on the sunday, it was just horrible.

2007 was an epic mission from start to the journey out the car parks, there was only one thing for it & that was get on it, probably partied harder than ever but could hardly move by Sunday.

The who will always signify my most depressing festival moment, just sodden knackered & burnt out plus the who were terrible. That festival was terminally ill by that point, nothing left in the tank. Trudged back finished the red wine & comatose then sit in a car for so long followed by a massive journey home. The first thing we had to do after finally getting out car park was get food & drink, nightmare
