Went to my house earlier to see if my tickets had arrived. Found that Royal Mail had left a note saying something needed signing for. Went to the sorting office and got an envelope. Have just opened it and it is indeed the tickets and car park pass. I think that'll be it for a few weeks on the preparation front, apart from the training regime I've set myself. That continues unhindered.

Yesterday I went to see Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (still amazing) to remind myself why I need to see them again at Glastonbury. At least once. Promised one of them I'd be there so it'd be rude not to now.

Today I have scheduled in a tent practice with my friends at the weekend. None of us have gardens, living in a city, so we have to meet in a park to make a day of it. Can't wait!

Had the car serviced for the first time in 4 years (I know mileage is only part of the story when it comes to servicing intervals, but in my defence I've only done 9,000 miles in that time!)

Took delivery of new walking boots and a sample pair of bamboo socks; having worn both all afternoon ordered two more pairs of socks.

Researched gaiters to go with new boots (hopefully won't need them though!) Any recommendations would be welcomed as I haven't used gaiters before.

Got £50 cashback in £10 notes when buying fathers day gifts today because I read somewhere that you're less likely to get short changed if you don't use £20 notes and because I'm always paranoid they'll refuse to serve me because they don't have change for a 20 :sarcastic:

Absolutely fuck all. This is my first Glastonbury and I couldn't care less about the build up to it.

In previous years I'd go to a festival and plan months in advance. I bought a ticket for Download Festival last year a week before it started in a moment of madness. Did very little preparation, took a bare minimum of things to use and when I got there, and I had an amazing time. I went to Bestival last year too - had been preparing for it since September 2011 - hated it.

I'm doing the same for Glastonbury this year. I'm taking my tent, a self-inflating mat, pillow, sleeping bag, tent pegs, bin bags, alcohol, boxer shorts, socks, t-shirt, shorts, baby wipes, toilet roll, deodorant, money, my phone, camera and a camping chair. Everything else is shrapnel. I've done no preparation whatsoever and I don't intend to. The only thing I'm planning is which route to take from Northamptonshire and I'll be using Spotify to listen to the bands I haven't heard of. Other than that, fuck all.

Seriously, how much preparation do you need? I've learned to just go.
