So here is the deal, i have a day ticket for saturday, i can stay with my cousin in Chesterfield on the friday however a taxi back from Derby to chesterfield is going to cost me £65, way too many beer tokens. However there is a hotel availible outside derby but check is 4.00pm on saturday like im gonna leave the festival and come back, also miles away from donnington and will cost a fortune to get to. However i have two sets of friends camping, starting to think i should have got one fo them tickets now. What are the chances of bunking in to either the family camping or other camping sites, seriously any ideas what are the chances.

Does anyone now also if i can possibly exchange my ticket for a camping one now that i have already got it.

Any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

They do check wristbands on your way back from the areana into the village. Depends on how busy it is and whether security are on the ball. I got checked around 3 times out of 5. Normally everyone just holds their arms up. Also depends on what colours the wristbands are this year as if there is a clear difference in colour then the chances will be slimmer!

hope this helps :)

Bunking into family would be much harder, they are pretty stringent with checking bands in and out of there all the time, as JessLea says most people just hold their arm up anyway but whenever I haven't done that in the past when going into Family I have been asked to show.

As for switching to camping that would obviously mean switching from the day ticket to 3 days, best bet would be to call the ticket seller and ask the question. As long as you haven't got your ticket yet then I don't think there will be too much for a problem, and even then they may be able to sort something out where you can hand your day ticket in at the box office and get the weekend ticket there, but this is all surmising, best give them a call and as the question... Failing that, if you drive just park up and crash in your car, not the most comfortable but its only the one night!

The only thing you can do is sell your ticket and get a weekend one with camping. They are very strict with wristbands and checking tickets . You will not get into the campsites unless you have one. they have stewards at every entrance and exit to the campsites checking wristbands

I have spoke to my friends who are camping nad they have said that there is no way i could get in, even if i fained illness, drunkeness, showed cleavage, and even shook hands with the queens head the bouncers would not budge. back to drawing board for me. thanks
