This year is my first Leeds Festival. I go to V Festival every year - this year included. However, I won 2x weekend camping tickets for Leeds (most excited!) Can someone tell me if the ticket is valid from Thursday saw a previous post from 2012 that they are valid from Thursday but not sure about this year?! Also, any advise with Leeds? Alcohol, Camping,Parking etc! ☺

I'm a Reading-er so can't comment on parking or camping but yes, weekend tickets are valid from Thursday :)

In regard to alcohol (at Reading at least), its pretty relaxed. If your bags are searched and you've got a stupid amount on you, they'll probably question you but i haven't even been searched in the 2 years i've gone and when you're in, as long as you're not causing any trouble, you will be fine. It's pretty expensive there so i'd recommend bringing some of your own. And when you come in, you can get either free beer or pepsi (at least, this has previously been the case). The beer is fucking grim but the pepsi can be used as a good mixer :)

Parking is straightforward, just follow signs on approach to Bramham Park.

Standard ticket gets you in from 3am Thursday. Ticket with early entry gets you in at 2pm Wednesday which I imagine you could also purchase if you were wanting to go earlier.

Camping, it can sometimes be a nuisance trying to find a space in the most sought after campsites on a Thursday morning but I'm not really sure it'll be a problem this year, early bird entries haven't really sold that well.

With regards to alcohol, a lot depends on whether you're 18 or not. Basically, they won't let you bring your own alcohol into the arena but a lot of people manage to bypass this through their own methods. I think the choice when you get in there is Tuborg or Magners for between £4.00-£5.00; which is why I drink at camp. If you're buying drinks from the bars you can get an 18+ wristband but you may as well bring your ID anyway as they're known to re-check. Getting alcohol into the camp is obviously fine if you're 18, you might have to be tactile about it if you're not I guess, and they're not too keen on glass bottles either.

Pretty much the same as V where alcohol is concerned. Hopefully be able to get a decent place to camp going on Thursday, early bird is just that extra day not showering too much for me. Hate how expensive the bars are at the Festivals, definitely taking a lot of vodka in pouch bottles! Do they have showers on site? They tend to have massive tents at V!
