Linkin Park also have a gap between the USA dates and the start of the European run… it’s a long shot though -

Could be reading into it too much. if you also look at the line up, Anyma is not listed as the main stage. Which makes you wonder whether they are truly building an outdoor EDM dedicated stage for artists like anyma , Armin etc. But then why would the other stage be called main stage? That’s what I don’t seem to understand at the moment -

I’m using the 10th and 7th as a example but I’m guessing there missing 3 or more big undercard acts which i assume can be bands like Snow patrol , Empire of the Sun etc, looks like 8th 9th and 11th are missing a few big undercard names so I’m not giving up hope on some rock names yet -

What is the target audience they are aiming for though? all I’ve heard so far is under 21 year olds. I am personally not a big rock fan and I would not be interested to see bands like Nine inch Nails or Idles at Sziget. I don’t mind them getting booked but I’m not going to see them. However bands like Foo fighters , Green Day or Linkin Park are big names which anyone can go to see and have a good time, without knowing many songs. Even the headliners seem mis-matched to me . The only one I would actually be interested to see is Shawn mendes , because I didn’t see him before. I like a lot of pop music , Lorde , Marina, Girl in red, Tove lo etc. But I am not a fan of Charli or Chappell. I find the songs and live performance rely on too much auto tune (especially Charli xcx) . But that is just my opinion and I know they are a huge sensation right now . Most people who like Charli, will like Chappell . But they are on opposite ends of the festival. And I doubt that everyone who likes those names are also interested in Post Malone , Asap and Anyma . Maybe Shawn mendes. But selling the 6 day passes will be a struggle for sziget this year. To me it feels more like they are trying to sell 6 individual concerts than a festival. I’m not surprised this is the direction they have chosen to take as it will possibly be the best economic decision but it doesn’t make for a strong line up on the whole.
