you'd think a band who go on about how they're always writing would include some new stuff but y'know..

They only released their album 4 months ago lol? It IS new stuff, these tours are still in support of their debut

the 1975 are a terrible band. I don't see how they have any credibility at all!

They write all their own music and lyrics, they've been working hard as a band for over 10 years, from busking on the streets to supporting the Rolling Stones and selling out a headline academy tour that includes 3 manchester and 3 brixton academy dates, what's not credible about that?

that?

Credible was maybe the wrong word to use. They're shite and the lead singer sounds like a 6 year old girl. It's horrible to listen to

Isn't it funny how it's nearly February (announcement month) and there hasn't really been any proper leads on who's headlining...

At what point last year was it pretty well known that Beyonce and KOL were headlining? I know I wasnt here before then so I dont really know that sort of thing

yeah but could V coup that?

Booking both of them is incredibly expensive, I wouldn't be surprised if the undercard would have more repeat bookings than before.

The Stone Roses and Beyoncé would have been more expensive than either of those, surely? So along with The Killers and KOL I doubt those years will have been any cheaper than Jay-Z/JT. JT's not exactly a massive headliner, is he?

Yeah by now it was clear who was headlining... this year there is literally nothing.

I'm sorry but Jay-z and timberlake both headlining is far too strong...

Is it? They both headlined a day each at wireless last year. and i don't remember anyone saying that was ridiculously strong.

The undercard will be the same as it is every year, a mix of pop bands, 00s indie bands and a splattering of DJs...

Edit: If that is true, on the cost to book them, 2 million is not a lot for your two headliners...

If V really wanted Jay Z or JT I think they could get them. I am under the understanding that the guys that booked them for Wireless have a majority share in V aswell, so they will have done business for them before and may have good negotiation's with their agents. I dont think it will be both though, especially sharing the headline spot unless the headliner on the next night is someone cheaper or they bump Calvin Harris up to headline main

Beyonce, Eminem and stone roses pocketed £2m for the headline slots if I recall. £1m per night. V is all about making money so thier budget for artists will be small to maximise profit, so the undercard will no doubt suffer again this year with headliners like JT/Jay Z. Just imagine who would've appeared at T4 on the beach and you've got your line up

I think Bastille and 1975 are pretty certain, add Dizzee Rascal, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding and Lily Allen to that, who are all probably there.

They'll probably book The Vamps for an arena slot, Sam Smith, Tom Odell, James Morrison, Jason Derulo (he hasn't been at V since 2009, and has risen in popularity this year), Kaiser Chiefs (will be in public demand now that The Voice has gotten better and new album in March), Madness, Olly Murs (what's a V without Olly ;)), Rizzle Kicks, A1.

Then add some indie favourites (Feeder haven't been back for a while, are they still together)

Professor Green has a new album out in May, Sophie Ellis Bextor this month, Ed Sheeran in Februrary, The Fray in Feb.

Iggy Azalea, Azealia Banks, Ella Henderson (could be a Diana Vickers type booking), Example and Emeli Sande all have albums out this year

I also wouldn't rule out others such as Avicii, Katy B, Union J, Paolo Nutini, Rudimental, Passenger (-Daniel cheers-), Strypes, HAIM, Aloe Black, AlumaGeorge, Beady Eye, Scouting For Girls etc

On top of that add the TV actor (Previously Idris Elba, Childish Gambino)

Not a bad list you quote.

I guess this.

Day 1

Jay Z + JT
Tinie Tempah? - wasn't there last year.

Beady Eye or Kaiser Chiefs 4Music.

Day 2

A rock band. - Muse might have a new album.

A suitable support. - Elbow/Black Keys sort of thing.

Avicii 4Music.
