so there's going to be a McBusted album

surely nailed on for a sub spot unless R&L beg for mercy

Why would R&L want McBusted?? I think its about a far away from what the bookers want as anyone.

No one was up in arms about OMAM and Two Door not being at R&L. Most people were bloody happy.

Doubt any of the ones you named will be at R&L this year other than London Grammar.

Really?? OMAM had a great audience the year before and cirtainnly some of my mates wanted to see them again. Two door are popular too tbf.

I think its compleatly wrong to say most were happy

Yes the people that were at Calvin around me weren't awful, but there were a few idiots, but I imagine the chase and status crowd is similar to that of Labrinths both years, both that I've gone to, seen the type of crowd and immediately left, chase and status are good, i saw them once, but most of the audience was middle aged, and if a middle aged lady tried to have a brawl with me, Itd be more funny than annoying

Chase and Status had a mostly young audience at Leeds this year i think. Also they wernt fighting they were just chavs.. Throwing glass and cans around also stuff like chairs were thrown that i saw... Also loads wernt looking at the music at all they were just trying to shove and push others watching in an attempt to start a mosh pit

Have to say that C&S were absolutely brilliant though

Also, re C&S, the crowd was horrible at Leeds, C&S were good, but it was full of dickheads, I'd say it wasn't helped by Eminem being on afterwards, but the crowd was fine afterwards for him. If they played V, I'd wager that the crowd would be just as shite

This.

Not looking forward to the Kanye crowd at Wireless. It's in the roughest area of Birmingham, fuck knows why, if it wasn't such a rare opportunity I'd give it a miss.

kanye at wireless 09 (my first ever gig) had a decent crowd, especially in comparison to jay-z (wireless 10) chase and status (sw4 12 and reading 13) and skrillex (sw4 12)

sorry, worded that badly. i meant how in terms of popularity, mcbusted would blow the current rumours for the sub spots at R&L out of the water.

Aye I meant people on here really.

thank the lord. was gonna say this crowd doesn't look that unhappy that TDCC were there haha:

McBusted a stick on for sub. That's a good one.

don't see why not. did you see the crowds mcfly got last year? :) in terms of a singalong there aren't many guitar-based acts around this summer that would play above them i don't think. they're sure as hell bigger than the script.

V might not go with a Guitar singalong band as sub

In what way are McFly bigger than the Script :S

Guy Garvey hasn't got an ounce of ego. His interviews and the way he interacts with the crowd tell you the sort of bloke he is. The whole band strikes me as a group of mates who just enjoy doing what they do

I've never watched any of his interviews or know anything about him, I've just heard a lot of people say he's an arrogant prick

Possibly. Although then again there's only not been a guitar band as one of the main stage subs at V once since 2004, and most years there are two.

I said McBusted. And anyway, they're bigger in any way you want really - record sales, number ones, longevity. Hell Tom and Dougie have more twitter followers than Danny O for as little as that means.

Aye, McFly were on a bit of a decline before McBusted came about.

No question about that. But even then, the fifth album which by all accounts was regarded as a flop by their standards produced multiple top ten hits. And even at the lowest point of the 'decline' they got the best crowd I saw at the whole of V last year. Including Beyonce.

McBusted third on MainStage, my two cents.

Possible. Think that spot on the 'pop' day is reserved for Lily Allen though myself.

Might it be worth pointing out at this point that V already put a comment on their Facebook page which seemed to dismiss the chances of McBusted playing at all never mind subbing...*hides*

nah it sounded more like a

"really? You want Mcbusted?... well... maybe they are playing" you know what I mean.

McBusted cant count for longevity, as they are a newly formed band...but whatever. From Mcfly and Busted put together then yeah they have more sales and all that malarchy, but I dont see them subbing like The Script did. I could have seen them headlining The Arena but that was before they were announced for the BST festival thing.

Best crowd meaning most friendly or most singalongy or something else?
