I think The Prodigy would want to headline a stage, and as V may not want them as main headline they might take 2nd stage if they got the same amount of money as they would for main headline.

Ellie Goulding was 3rd in the Arena last year so I dont think she is too low down.

I remember seeing Prodigy headline the 2nd stage at v a few years back so not beneath them, saying can't remember if they were as popular as now.

Ellie Goulding won't sub, third place seems spot on for her.

The prodigy might bee wanting to hold back from non headline spots so they are guarenteed them once they finally finish their new (and maybe last) album.

ps. did it pass over all your heads that nile rodgers is exclusive to bestival :P

Not exclusive, just that disco themed spin they have come up with is exclusive.

Yeah I saw that they had previously done that slot. If they do everything right, they could headline 2nd this year, finish the album and headline R&L next year then do T and V the year after (maybe)

Agreed her spot is pretty much right. I didnt think she sounded loud enough in the arena, her backing music was downing out her voice so maybe on a bigger stage she may sound better.

Ellie Goulding was 3rd in the Arena last year so I dont think she is too low down tbh. Same for Rudimental, roughly same time slot but a bigger stage might be right, but IOW have them 3rd behind co headliners so maybe they should be 3rd here. Paolo shouldnt be co headlining T in my opinion, but he should at least be 3rd I think. Maybe have Lily Allen and Ed Sheeran as subs and Rudimental and Paolo as 3rd, mix and match depending on headliners and if they want more of a flow from one to the other or a mix up.

I think Bastille should be higher than there though, maybe 4th main

Vampire Weekend are being put forward as subs at R&L so I'd say they'd take sub or third at V on main.

Ellie seems a lot bigger this time round though, quite high up at T at the moment, and at European fests such as Werchter, I think you may be underestimating her growth as an artist over the last year.

I think Paolo is just subbing at T, although Neil did say the other day when I questioned his size was that he was one of, if the not the biggest ticket seller in the UK a couple of years ago, so he's definitely big enough to sub T, so surely big enough for at least 3rd at V, even sub?

Lily Allen and Ed as subs and Rudimental and Paolo as thirds would be quite strong imo for V

also Paloma Faith is announcing a UK tour on Monday

Where could you see Ellie playing? I think even last year she should have been higher than she was.

I would take them 4 as 2nd and 3rd on each day tbh, Rudimental into Ed into a good (for my taste) headliner would be great.

I dont like Paloma Faith.

I didn't realise Ellie had played so low down last year, she should headline the second stage now, at least, imo. She's far bigger than last years second stage subs, and bigger than Beady Eye, though not as big as Calvin probably, but he made the jump from second stage headliner at T last year to main stage headliner eh

Yeah it surprised me too at where she played. She should have subbed Arena really, Jaguar Skills was good but Ellie is bigger even last year she was. Bigger than Beady Eye yes, bigger than 'a member of oasis' I dont think so. Id like to think she was though

Where the fuck would she play? Played fifth down last year but can't see her improving on that, yet she's done abolsutely nothing recently to merit playing the main stage at all.

Agreed, unless she headlined Arena and went backwards in terms of big slot, but she gets a headline credit

She has an album coming out on the 10th of March and her first (?) single from it is being released on the 3rd (a collab with Pharrell no less)

edit; actually it might have already been released, I'm not very up on my paloma faith knowledge

I don't like her but she's got more talent in her little toe than Liam Gallagher could ever wish for

Did anyone do a list of who from T is likely to be at V yet? If so then ignore this..

Likelys
Ellie Goulding, Bastille, Paolo Nutini, Rudimental, Ben Howard, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Clean Bandit, John Newman, Example, Kodaline, Passenger, Sam Smith, Newton Faulkner, Nina Nesbitt
Possibles
Ed Sheeran, Manics, Maximo Park, Embrace, Elbow, Ella Eyre, Stranglers, Alesso (although his tour dates suggest the Sunday at Reading)
‘Depends whether V or R&L want them more’
HAIM, We Are Scientists, Chvrches, Katy B, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, London Grammar, George Ezra, Chance the Rapper, Inspirational Carpets
Unlikely
Pixies, Steve Angello, Calvin Harris, James, Bombay Bicycle Club, Twin Atlantic
No chance
Biffy, YMAS, Pharrell, 1975, Metronomy, Arctics, Jake Bugg, Disclosure, Imagine Dragons, Tame Impala
No idea
The Rifles, Len Faki, Pots and Pans, Dave Clarke, Carl Craig, Magda, Above & Beyond, Sven Goran Eriksson, Slam, The Twilight Saga, Julio Bashmore, Levon Vincent, George Fitzgerald (I thought he died 100 years ago)
V could get a fairly decent undercard out of that lot but you'd probably start to worry if come Monday any of them are announced in the day splits.

Lol :P If she's doing a single with everything-he-touches-turns-to-gold Pharrell then she might end up subbing..

I don't like her but she's got more talent in her little toe than Liam Gallagher could ever wish for

Must have left it in the shower every day I've seen her then.

Inspirational Carpets

No chance
Pharrell, Imagine Dragons, Tame Impala

I really doubt R&L give a shit about Inspiral Carpets

Someone needs to find this Pharrell English excluse @ Wireless thing because I haven't seen it anywhere. Why are Imagine Dragons and Tame Impala no chance?
