Bobs
Hadn't realised that City have 2 games in hand. How big are the Chelsea, and City games at Anfield gonna be? Whilst we're at it. How big was the win for Everton today? Gives us a HUGE opportunity next week against Arsenal. Win that, and well, who knows... 4th is on! pink_triangle
I think there is a danger of people underestimating Chelsea as people seem to be talking about a city/Liverpool title race. If Chelsea win their remaining games they finish above Liverpool and don't give city a huge amount of room for error. While the game away to Liverpool is probably causing many to doubt their chances, we shouldn't forget they have already gone away to city this season and played them off the park. Mourinhios record against top premier teams is fantastic and he is the only manager of the 3 with experience of winning top leagues.

eFestivals
Liverpool favourites for the title?I think so.top of the table with 6 games to go and all in their hands. It's certainly somet5hing they'd have paid millions for at the start of the season. But favourites? Not sure about that. I think most of us would say that both Chelsea and City at their best are better than Liverpool at their best, and there's probably only one point to be had by Liverpool from those two games. What's particularly weird is that it's far from impossible that Liverpool might lose those two games and still win the league. The average for the other two teams says they'll drop the points to allow Liverpool to do that - tho Liverpool's average says they'll drop too many points themselves even if that happens. It's gonna be interesting, that's for sure. eFestivals
Neil's 'Rogers' big weakness will be his over reliance on Gerrard' or words to that effect seem to now look to be incorrect.yup - I ate my words weeks ago about Gerrard playing deep. He's much much better there than I thought he would be.He did have a ropey start tho.

eFestivals
Theres definitely been a sacrafice in terms of defensive stability but it seem to be working as long as S&S continue as they have.not sure about that, other than because of circumstances.I've no idea what he's like myself, but everything about Sakho says he should improve the defence once he gets a chance to play. eFestivals
Not many games that Liverpool have had first choice back 4 this season (even discounting Enrique's long term absence).yep - which is what I was pointing out.It might be the case that the first choice 4 aren't any better, but it would be wrong (as someone above did) to say that Rodgers had no plan for the defence. He clearly did. We just don't know if that plan would have worked.
eFestivals
I agree though, after a dodgy start, Sakho seemed to be getting decent just as he got injured. Skrtel was pretty much frozen out at one point, but then seemed to be able o do no wrong, keeping Agger out of the side when Sakho was fit.Rogers did that with Carragher in his final season. Couldn't get a game. Got MoM in a Carling cup game and then was ever present for the rest of the season.it looks to me like Rodgers is going to stick with the current back 4 until he sees reason to change them - which I think will be after the City game at earliest. But I also think part of it has been about blooding Flanagan, who's been superb on the left for someone of his age, experience, and being a right back. In the last game against City he was exceptional, and I think Rodgers wants more of the same in a couple of weeks.
zahidf
http://www.football365.com/john-nicholson/9241905/John-Nicholson Discuss: if Man Utd don't get rid off Moyes, will they be stuck at 6th/7th for the forseeable future? With City and Chelsea going nowhere top of the table, and if Liverpool do only get better, 4th would seem the best chance for them at the mo, and I think Arsenal (Despite their current issues) would be best placed for that. ( Even if Everton do beat them to it this season)
mrtourette
Christ I hate John Nicholson's writing. In answer to the posed question, yes if a number of teams perform better than you then it's likely you will slip down the table, and if you can't then improve to be better that those teams that overtook you then yes it's likely you'll remain at that lower position. So if Man Utd can't be better than they are this season then yes it's unlikely they'll be able to climb back into the top four.

eFestivals
Flanagans tackle summed it up for me really. He's really turning into something, I reckon Kelly must be stupidly mad about Flanagan coming past him - and it's not like Kelly is a slouch either. The way that both Flanagan and Sterling have come on this season is fantastic. It's quite odd to see such a steady progression of two English youngsters over such a short time.
