? Explain what you mean...

the Glazers have only been interested in milking the club for money.

That gets very hard to do if bubbling just under top 4, but if they were to aim for 15th they could do that with comparatively cheap players (both with wages and transfer fees) and still milk the club for money.

It's going to be interesting to see what the Glazers plans are. Them digging deep - and they'll need to dig VERY deep - to re-elevate the club isn't guaranteed.

WRT Moyes, Utd fans really need to relax! One bad year and they dont know what to do with themselves. Fergie spoiled them rotten and they have no clue how to be a true fan and suck it up when they lose. Utd have been in the CL the past 19 seasons! Most other football fans know how to cope with not being the top and qualifying for such competitions. Utd fans need to learn such

A dose of footballing reality can only be a good thing for Utd fans IMO. Those screaming for Moyes to go would have been the ones to fire Fergie before he got the engine motoring. Give him a chance. If you have 2 bad seasons in a row consider getting rid of then.

So are we suggesting that Utd have to sell off all the players earning decent wedge then? Mata, Rooney, Young,. RVP, Carrick, Nani, Fletcher, Valencia, Welbeck, Evra, Kagawa, De Gea etc and not replace Vidiv, Rio, Giggs etc and then go out and buy a load of players on 20k a week?

Err. ok...

I think most lower premier league clubs have wage structures more like 50 k a week.

They will let the contracts run out, and then replace them with free tranfers and cheaper footballers.

Again, not saying they will, but if they don't get into Champions League next year and spend 350 million not to ( 250 million on transfer fees say and 100 million on wages) then they could decide to go another way.

they're about to lose a load of big earners as their contracts end, and rumour is that Nani is gone - so that's a huge saving just there.

Sell off? Who knows.

Whatever the score is with those current players, it's going to take a LOT of wedge plus a lot of bottle - both things the Glazers don't have, and certainly don't like to give out - to spend to get back to the top 4.

Just remember how there's been several teams outside the top4 spend £100M+ and not make top 4.

And just remember how your current manager has already spent £65M and made the team worse.

And just remember how the team he's left is doing better.

And just remember how he's never won anything.

Are you a betting man? Whatever, the Glazers definitely aren't.

Nope not at all. But thats a billion dollar risk you're talking about. They could just sell it off at a profit today if they wanted and then theres no need for any hassle.

It depends what you're classing as "profit".

There's what they paid, and then there's what they owe.

And there's what they believed the club was worth 2 years ago, and what the club is worth on that same basis today.

And there's what the club is worth when valued as a standard business (rather than a boys toy).

None of those things shout 'profit' at them, I assure you. :)

You don't take on one of the worlds biggest clubs. Just look at what happened with Dumb & Dumber and Liverpool.

you mean just look at some debt junkies?

Hello the Glazers.

His been on loan for 3 seaons there now as well its absoulute staggering a clause like this can be allowed.

Hopefully they do get drawn together so it causes enough outrage they have to change the loan system to stop Chelsea stockpiling players and influencing other teams selection decisions against them.
