Yup. Everton 1 point away from winning it for Neil. Fair play to him, I thought it was a terrible claim.

Also, pea tea griffin, do you read this thread just to downvote posts you disagree with? Debate and argue rather than just use that.

Jose Mourinho, as much as I dislike the dick, is good at deflecting away from his players and onto himself. Always has been. Which has made his tirades against his strikers this season a real surprise to me. I took his stuff at the weekend to be just another example of that. So a defeat against a really crap team, everyone is talking about what Mourinho said.

Comfy win for Man City tonight. Some goal from Dorrans though.

I've seen you downvote 3 or 4 of my comments in this thread without ever saying anything about why you disagree, as well as those of several others. The latest one was where I said how whoever wins this year will deserve it, having played good attacking football unlike Chelsea (mostly) and Man U recently, but there's been a fair few more.

Fair enough, I will make sure I explain why I disagree in future. I don't disagree with that particular statement, maybe it was something else you said or maybe i clicked the wrong arrow. I know i've done that a couple of times and efests doesn't let you change it. However, i don't necessarily think that 'good attacking football' should be the be all - there are many ways to skin a cat... Athletico certainly haven't played 'good attacking football' all season yet if they win it no one should begrudge them it.

For the record, I don't think Chelsea deserve to win it this year - we are still some way short of our potential and any team that bottles it against 3 bottom teams in the title run in deserves diddly squat.

the same people having the same arguments (particularly Neil vs Nal)

hey, maybe after this season there's a few people might like to give themselves a nudge and say "neil does know shit sometimes after all". :P

Despite the fact that in the run up to xmas I thought Arsenal were probably gonna win the league, for once I've probably been nearer the mark for how the the season has played out than just about everyone else posting here.

To me with Moyes its no just what he has done, but whether there is any confidence to turn things around in the future. What I wanted from Moyes when Man Utd were underperfoming was to show some balls and come out and say how it was unacceptable for the league champions to be performing like that, instead we had lots of wishy washy comments about how well they were playing. There were concerns when he came in he did not have a big team mentality and he did nothing to invalidate that criticism. On that basis why give someone 100+million to spend.

Its hard to feel sympathy for Moyes who after less than a year of failiure will never have to work again should he choose. I suspect Man Utd wont be going down the British manager route this time.

Was it naivety or arrogance that most if not all Utd posters on here called it totally wrong? Maybe its misplaced loyalty to your former lord and master - but it seems to me a massive disconnect with the reality of the situation. Couple weeks back people were saying this poor punter was gonna be given 100m+ to spend this summer. Lads.

it's a pretty easy consideration.

Is a manager who can take a team from 1st to 7th the best manager to spend £150M+ to get them back to the top?

Easy, see. :)

What we've discovered here is that the Glazers are not gamblers, but that they're so deep in the financial shit they need to gamble.

Maybe this year but you're as bad as me as predicting results sometimes!

If you notice, I've kept completely away from predicting results this season (tho mainly I avoided them in the past too, or said to people to bet on the opposite).

I've worked off the averages, but then again i've done much the same in previous years too. And it only works for what you choose to look at - for example, it has passed me by till a couple of weeks back that Utd's away record was so good.

Either way thats £5 I owe to a charity of your choice.

not quite yet. You need to wait until you hear the sound of cheers coming from London. :P

But it's Water Aid once those cheers start, thanks. :)
