I'd take Cole, Shaw and Flanagan personally. I still don't rate Baines defensively, and he's not going to be going to the next world cup so I don't think there's much point giving him big game experience. Only reason I'm saying to take Flanagan is because he can also play right-back and I don't rate anyone else. I think Shaw's the better left-back.

To me Athletico beating Madrid in the final would be the ideal final, I don't think 2 clubs from the same city have ever met in the final before. I personally don't care whether English clubs do well in Europe, as a neutral I would rather see the best spectacle and find Chelsea a bit dull.

Are there any local residents left ? Liverpool FC have been buying up the housing around the ground for a long time now. Council are going to compulsory purchase the rest....

Fact is Liverpool FC destroyed Anfield... Talk about shitting in your own backyard lol!

Its bloody awful what the club has done and not done to allow the area around the stadium fall into an utter state.

to be fair to the club, not all of it has been their doing or within their control.

And there's plenty of boarded up streets around Merseyside that have naff-all to do with any footie club.

I was laughing at Liverpool FC once again showing what a horrible football club it is and how it is laughable they are happy to shit in there backyard :)

that's a very one-sided view of a complex issue.

The club of course hold an amount of responsibility and culpability, but so also do the council and some local residents. There can only ever be no shit onto anyone if all interested parties are working to the same agenda.

And while the club holds that guilt, some of that is carried by its previous owners who started a plan but couldn't carry it thru. There's fuck all that "the club" are able to do against that.

The drawn out nature of the demise of the area is the most awful thing about it.

That's the story of Merseyside as a whole, and of many English (and perhaps other UK, I'm not sure) cities.

Just check the numbers for the populations of cities over the last century, and spot the continual human flight from them. I don't think there's a city in England that's not lost 25% or more of its population.
