Allardyce lost the tactical battle against Mark Hughes on Saturday in a big way, and not for the first time. Add that to too many individuals having poor games and there was only going to be one result. In fairness, Stoke probably deserved to win more comfortably than the score line suggested.

Now G&S need to pull their finger out and bring in some players required before the deadline.

I hear Vaz Te is off to Palace on loan for the season. I guess that will free up a small amount of wages.

we were poor, and all 3 games we've had show the lack of depth in the squad - we got away with it against Cardiff because they had a bad game, but we can't continue like that.

Maiga isn't good enough, and if we don't sign a striker today then if Carroll gets injured for the season then we will be in a battle at the bottom of the table again.

and big sam really needs to peg his ego down and either drop nolan from time to time or sub him when he isn't playing well...

Amazing signing for arsenal, ozil is an assist machine.

I reckon that deal must have always been on the backburner, and Wenger was just waiting for the Bale deal to be finalised before making his move. .... and it's smashed their transfer record by about £30M :lol:

The Arse have also just signed Emiliano Viviano from Palermo.

And if they get Ba as well, that'll be a tidy bit of business on deadline day.

Meanwhile, they'll still leak goals at the back.

Sounds like Moyes may be offloading Kagawa rather than giving him more playing time?

I have a suspicion that might be happening too, after he didn't make the bench yesterday.

I'm a bit confused by how the German transfer window works tho. They've just published their list of possible transfers, and while some reporting says that list is for internal transfers between teams in the league, there's also some 'from overseas' players on that list - but no Kagawa.

If he's going I guess it's dependent on who Utd might get in.

Far more likely, IMO, is Real were waiting on Bale before they'd let Ozil go.

oh, that as well.

What I mean is that Wenger has been eye-ing him up, knowing he'd be in with a decent chance of getting Ozil once the Bale deal was done.

I would say now that Arsenal's midfield (first XI not squad) is as strong as City's and Chelsea's, and stronger than Man Utd's and Tottenham's.

Arsenal have had a very decent first XI for years. Their problem has been the weakness of the backups.

I don't agree that any of the 3 games have shown a lack of depth in the squad.

We're stronger than last season in the goalkeeping department, and the full back and out wide positions further forward. We haven't got any weaker in central midfield or central defence.

The only position we're weaker is the all important forward position. Won't be an issue if we sign a striker of decent ability. Is a massive problem though if we don't.

Also agree about Nolan. Should have been replaced on Saturday without a doubt.
