eFestivals
As I sometimes do on TD day, I've got a number of media websites open - BBC, Guardian, Telegraph, and Sky.In past windows I've thought that Sky have had their finger on the pulse more than the other places I've been looking at. This year that's very definitely not the case. They've given quite a few bits of false info, with some of them immediately refuted by the other sites I'm watching (those other sites very obviously have the same Sky page as me open, or are watching SSN).But what they've also been giving is lots of mentions and links to Sky Bet. So I'm starting to wonder if they're taking the piss with false rumours to get mug punters putting money on.

TheGayTent
Still think Arse are missing a leader. Someone that players will follow into the trenches. An Adams or Vieira type. But still think they're stronger than the mickeys or their north London neighbours Edited September 2, 2013 by TheGayTent
the wonderwhy
Like a keeper? Which they've signed I don't actually agree with all the claims that they need a top, dedicated DM. I think most of their midfielders can tackle and intercept, they couldn't have the possession stats they do otherwise. I think what Arsenal needed was a quality player to go straight into the first team and push others into competing in rotation. I'd say they could do with another striker, but I think Ozil's enough for them to secure top 4.

kaosmark2
Thauvin to Marseille... Dare I hope that that'd open the prospect of us signing Ayew if they've got a winger in? Nah. We're not going to get anything done today.

kaosmark2
I think they are expecting more of Giroud this season, I think too often the media and fans make too much judgement about a player after 1 season. Just because a player isn't amazing (although he was quite solid) at his first season, it doesn't mean they are destined to stay at the same level forever. I think some forget how difficult it is to move to a new country with a different language and culture and there can be a level of adaptation. Arsenal could probably do with another forward as cover, I don't really know how good Sonongo is, but I heard a stat on the radio showing how many goals podolski and giroud have scored in the last 12 months and it was very competitive with any other premiership strike partnership. TheGayTent
If Everton end up with Lukaku, McCarthy, and Barry, and keep Baines, and get £30m for Fellaini, they'll have done brilliantly I think. A lot of ifs mind

pink_triangle
I think Man Utd have done well to get coentrao, a better option than Baines in my opinion. Im surprised its not a permanent deal, I wonder whether that was man utd or real madrids decision.

WS_Jack_III
I'd agree there, proven at the top level unlike Baines. I reckon Sessegnon - WBA for £6m is a cracking deal for them. Annoyingly good player IMO and offers both strength and creativity. I think he'll slot in behind Anichebe very effectively. Sunderland have got pretty much an entirely new team now haven't they? I'm cautiously delighted about that, complete lack of stability and very few players proven at Premiership level, I'm wondering if they could struggle. I think the other clubs that were around the bottom and survived last season will have better years. On our side, I'm really questioning what Joe Kinnear has done? Only 1 deal wrapped up this summer, and that a loan. I know Sissoko and Gouffran were summer targets brought forward to January but we should have added a bit more. We've done well to keep Cabaye but a bit more offensive power would have been nice. Ayew was the player we were linked with I'd have most liked, but we'll be quite reliant on Shola staying fit if we need a physical presence up front at any point. I don't think we'll be as close to relegation again but I can't see us mounting a real challenge for top half.
kaosmark2
Massive Season for Cabaye and Tiote now, they need to get back to that 11-12 form and not be shit like last season. I think we will finish about 16th again.

An Adams or Vieira type.I've read quite a few comments (I didn't notice it myself) that Flamini became just that when he got on the pitch at the weekend. Whether that's true or not, there was defo a decent chunk of that from him in his last stint at the Arse.I guess the problem with that is how much he might play. From the comments Wenger has made about not planning to re-sign him initially, I guess he's not planned to often be a starter.
