pink_triangle
I just checked the top scorer list from last season and podolski was at a similar level to Rooney, Aguero and Tevez which isn't too bad. Admitedly you need more premiership seasons to make a significant judgement, but I can only judge on what he has done so far. As for Carzola people forget he scored 12 goals from midfield last season, those goals and perfomances surely put him amongst the premiership midfield elite until theres evidence his performance have regressed. kaosmark2
I wouldn't say Arsenal lack squad depth, its just the likes of Chelsea and city have significantly more depth. Arsenal are comparible to anyone else in this area though. I think some people get caught up so much in "big club" discussions that they think they should beat any other side easily. A draw at WBA is a pretty solid result, they finished top half last season and watching the second half today and the highlights against Man Utd today, providing they are not unlucky with injuries, I think they could do well this season as well. Essex_George
I'd say Podolski is about as good as Sturridge at present, yes Sturridge is in phenomenal form but extending it over the last 18 months I think it's comparable and Podolski does add a lot. If he were at Liverpool I'd play 4-3-3 (or 3-4-3) with Podolski out wide and Suarez/Sturridge swapping. I really think a lot of people underestimate him. kaosmark2
Not sure Podolski is at the same level as Sturridge. I really like Sturridge, he is not only scoring goals but his overall play is outstanding. Still can't believe Chelsea sold him and then this season loaned out Lukaku. Bobs
Maybe my average comment was bit harsh on Podolski, would take him as a squad player at LFC no problem!

eFestivals
No idea how you got from united's youngsters to kagawa.I read comments from footie fans in other places as well as here. If you've been doing the same you'd have seen a significant number of Utd fans saying that the reason Utd are playing badly is because Kagawa hasn't been picked.(yes, there are also Utd fans who debunk that). The way those comments go (particularly over weeks) ends up with a reader having the impression that Kagawa must be some sort of super-player of the same standard as Messi or skippy. So anyway, you say this season will be remembered for a new bunch of youngsters - which, let's be honest, is stretching things massively as it's based on one performance by one player - and so I've (to take the piss out of your words) gone with a different version of future history, based in far more common words from Utd fans than the words you've chosen.Never mind, eh? pink_triangle
Didnt Macheda show some promise early on, not saying (cant remeber his name, even if I could probably would spell it wrong) wont make it, but one game against the team at the bottom of the league may not the best way to make a judgement. eFestivals
Walcott's pace could make a huge difference, particularly against tired defenders. And he learned how to cross high balls last season.corrected for you.His crossing has always been excellent, either too good - unexpected - by the player who was meant to receive it (I always remember Lampard missing a sitter, because the pass was far better than he believed possible), or the receiver has been a header-er (is that a word? ) rather than a ball player.Until recently his crossing has tended to be on the deck. He can now put in high balls too.
eFestivals
so anyway ... I posted on Friday to ask whose bubble was getting burst this weekend, and everyone (me included) thought that Spurs had the points nailed on. Same old Spurs of over-paid slackers who have trouble putting the ball in the net. Nothing changes.5th at best. thetime
It wouldnt surprise me if they finish below liverpool due to not having sufficient firepower. AVB has bought in some nice players but Im mot sure if they have prioritised in the right positions. pink_triangle
Theres no way this lad will not make it, I've watched a lot of him in the last 19months and he's going to be a star.
lharris92
just putting it out there, if tottenham finish this season without champions league football, then spending £100m this summer to stay 5th/lower than last season is surely AVB gone. oh and happy times, woke up with a huge smile after remembering yesterdays score who needs a striker anyway.. hot_ice
I didn't say this season I said 2014.. totally agree what you say about kagawa, I'm not sure he will make it in the prem though. kaosmark2
I dont think you can say that about any player. Some of the most talented younger players have failed due to injuries, attitude or confidence problems. I remember seeing Hugo Viana at a similar age and thinking he looked one of the most talented young players I have ever seen. He then had a solid career but never close to meeting his potential.
