The only difference between Liverpool and man utd is you beat us at anfield. Your results are very similar in that united and Liverpool have beaten teams in the bottom half. Other than united liverpool haven't beaten a team in the top half and that's where your 3 points have come from.

The same applies for spurs they have beaten teams in the bottom half.

the difference then is Utd being three points worse than Spurs and Liverpool - you know, two teams that you and people like you think are weak. What does that make Utd? :P

You're getting your hope from fergie, but no one knows if the same factors still apply.

Massive overcomplication. 3,punts can be overcome in one week, one game if the opposition is your target.

it can be, but that would also require everyone above to flunk it the same week - which is pretty unlikely.

And while teams above will drop points now and then, the same is very likely to apply to Utd - so it's quite likely that if they close the gap a little one week it'll open out again the next week.

As I said, not only do they have to match the form of the teams above them they need to better it - and so far there's little sign that they will.

Sounds like someone is fretting that united are not as finished as he thought they was haha.

Given how Utd have gone for the last 20+ yars, I'd be foolish to write them off.

But at the same time, the opposite to that is going on with the likes of you, with a belief that they just can't fail.

They can fail, and some when they will fail - and your unswerving belief will be misplaced. Sooner or later you WILL be wrong.

I'm far from convinced you'll be wrong this time, but your belief is still hugely over-stating things from what can be observed this season so far.

But at the same time it's not really been the top teams that Utd have been dropping points to, so there's not particularly strong reason to think that Utd are going to make up the gap with those tough games to come.

Three points is a gap they can easily make up, but it's also gap they could easily fail to make up. Their form so far suggests they might not make it up.

You Utd fans do make me laugh, with that "your" bollocks .... if someone isn't up Utd's arse they MUST be the enemy. Thinking isn't their strong point here.

Depends what you mean failure? I'm more convinced now than I have been for weeks we will finish in the top 4, it's going to be quite comfortable aswel.

What's convincing you? Two unconvincing wins against two of the weakest teams in the league?:lol:

Utd have moved closer to the top 4 in the last few weeks with two wins while others above have stuttered ... it's pretty likely (just on the basis of averages and nothing else) that that narrowing is going into reverse this weekend.

The teams that could challenge utd for 4th being yourself, spurs and everton don't have enough about them in my opinion.

and yet Utd aren't showing that they have anything about them either.

If Utd have the potential to get going, then why not Spurs - who near enough everyone was saying at the end of August would make top 4 this season?

Or Liverpool finding a formation that works better for them (cos what they had on Saturday wasn't it)?

In my opinion it will be either United or liverpool for 4th and United will get 4th quite comfortably.

whoever gets whatever position, I can't see there being anything bigger than a 2 point gap between 4th and 5th, and the same between 5th & 6th. That's hardly "comfortably".

The only sizeable gap in that top 6 will be between the top one or two and the rest I reckon.

Liverpools formation always looked wrong on Saturday, but Im not sure what the right formation would have been. Maybe Allen for Sturridge but that would have been a big call considering both players respective form over the last 6 months. If liverpool have given up on Allen, maybe they didnt have the players to do anything else

me neither, they appear to be short of players for the positions they need to be better in.

Then again people have been saying the same thing about Arsenal almost for a decade now, but they've continued to perform around the highest levels, and then everything seems to have slotted into place this season (while Flamani and Ozil have made a difference, I think there's a bit more to the rest this season as well).
