PDAD
haha, they might just need better than A7X, a £10 reduction isn't justifying it just to later say the prices are froze but the headers are pish. must be working on PJ or something surely
dentalplan
Yeah, you would think. Cos if Nickelback and A7X were in fact two of the headers, the 3rd one would need to be fucking huge to keep the poster looking acceptable. PDAD
It's not like they haven't had unacceptable lineups before.

Gucci Piggy
Genuinely can't tell if this is serious... What on Earth do I do if the other two are Pearl Jam/Tool/NIN? I can't go to a festival with Nickelback headlining...
the wonderwhy
I hope the other two are Def Leppard and Linkin Park. With Judas Priest on the 2nd stage one of the nights.
GRichards23
Nickelback are absolutely class live. Marmite band for sure, but they would put on one heck of a show if they were announced as headliners.
calsmith182
nickleback surely can't headline download? who the fuck wants to see nickleback? and if they are lets hope for a good second stage headliner on that day because i wouldn't go near a nickleback set
Gingo
I for one dont understand all the Nickelback hate, if people listened to their albums they are great, fair enough if people dont like them but the hate for them is really strange, I will say the songs they release as singles are usually not the best and the best songs are the rest on the albums
Gucci Piggy
Main Stage: Nickelback 2nd Stage: Creed 3rd Stage: Bush

ToffeePopcorn
I like Nickelback, and went to their show at wembley last year, and I have to say, it was very bad. Songs sounded alright, just pretty boring, especially in comparison to the shows download headliners should put on...
Gucci Piggy
Two fantastic shouts there! Would like Placebo opposite them if it happened but think they may go for Slayer or something similar which would be ok by me.

devilman
No issues with Nickleback. I won't be watching them most likely but they shift enough tickets on their own. I'm seeing them in Glasgow later in the year, grudgingly, and they put on a fairly good show. They're a huge band in roughly the right genre that can inject something new into the fest. We can't have Def Leppard and BFMV every year now can we? Actually I find them less cheesy than Def Leppard.

devilman
2 of my gang love them, I was over ruled, it was going to be my first gig in the hydro and I fancied a night out in Glasgow. Then Alterbridge, Sabbath etc were announced and I am kinda regretting saying yes but what the hell, I did actually enjoy some of their show last time. Unless you wanna buy my ticket? It was a sell out in Newcastle, they're a popular band.

rawaudioinput
The issue is because there is only one major heavy festival in the UK despite the general climate towards festivals being very hostile Download is probably the only festival along with Glasto that can get away with duff bookings. If any one of R&L/V/IOW/T in the Park book poorly a large amount of their audience can be accommodated by other festivals however Download has a niche that it has a near total monopoly over; if routine goers don't like the line-up there won't really be anywhere else for them to go, so they'll probably bite the bullet, buy a ticket and hope there are some good acts on the undercard.
