Good start, A7X were great last time at Download, really enjoyed them. I'll probably pick up a day ticket if the other two days aren't up to scratch.

Not sure where this Linkin Park rumour has come from, but it seems to be unfounded.

Download usually have a British headliner and no one seems to have taken that in to account yet, my guess would be Biffy Clyro on the Saturday, with Van Halen or Kiss on the Sunday.

2004 was only a 2 day event. So yeah only 2 years out of 9 haven't had a British headliner, so chances are pretty high that there will be one. If I was being pedantic I would say AC/DC are half-British.

Biffy Clyro seem the most obvious, Muse said they are playing a couple of Euro fests next year, there's always good old trustworthy Def Leppard or even Black Sabbath as an outside bet, since they are supposedly headlining Hellfest.

you are a funny man. Linkin park could at least crack out a greatest hits set, the greatest hit for nickelback is getting stoned off stage

I'll lose face for this but, as bad as they are, Nickelback's debut album isn't awful. It's not great either but it masquerades as a fairly standard 'let's copy Eddie Vedder' grunge album. All Linkin Park albums are awful so I guess they're worse.

Bit underwhelmed so far but was sort of expecting to be... unless they pull out a Biffy Clyro or someone like that still really not sure if I'll go... Rock Werchter seems very tempting.

not this one but of their debut album it was the best selling of the decade. I should of said that, not just the decade.

Erm. I like all sorts. I just know that Hybrid Theory and Meteora were awful, and (no more face to lose) I had both of them and I still don't feel a need to defend their atrocities to music. Sales have little to do with quality of music

Linkin Park have not got the best selling album of any decade.

it may have been the best selling rock album or something like that but I'm sure they had a best selling album of a decade. I've just checked up on it, it looks like it was the best selling rock album of that decade and up to around a year ago it was the best selling debut album of the 21st century.
