2014 1st headliner

I don't think Download have repeated more than 1 headliner from any year before, so can't see them having both RATM and Aerosmith.

Saying that, I had heard the RATM rumour, but as far as I knew, it was a no go.

Aerosmith and Avenged Sevenfold seems a little uninspired. Would watch both and I'm bound to go anyway but think I'll probably wait to see what the rest of the lineup is like first. Always wanted to do a euro fest and if Download puts on a lackluster lineup I can see me going to Rock Werchter.

I'd not be sueprised if andy pulled the plug on them after the reaction from people at the thought they'd been booked. I completely forgot about them when lucky said and one other.

A7X, nickleback and aerosmith would be shocking

I doubt he'd pull them due to a bad reaction, you wouldn't go to all that effort to book them and then tear up the contract, lose booking fee just because the internet is angry again.

So a good friend of mine met Andy Copping in London over the weekend- naturally asked him about the headliners and all he said was that they're coming soon but the last booking is proving difficult to secure.

Nothing really new there bit I wonder who it is that 'proving difficult'?

Also, I don't like them at all tbh but could we see Haim at DL14? Copping tweeted about them seemingly every hour last week in the run up to their number 1 album. What do you guys think?

Aren't Haim a pop band? Couldn't tell you any of their stuff but they were at Leeds and T last year and all over Radio1. If they are actually a DL style band then that's a good thing but I'm fearing the worst here.

I didn't actually know he did more than just Download.

Call me a fool but I like Copping. I know it's the norm to find him annoying and bratty or whatever around here but he does actually come off like a fan before businessman and down to earth with his customers unlike other festival bosses.

Yeah Copping tweets about all kinds of non-rock/metal stuff, I wouldn't say it points to him booking it for his rock/metal festival even though he does appear to be diversifying somewhat.

Think more 70's old skool bluesy pop rock. They're not bad imo but I doubt they will be at Download.
