brandycoke
Can get a little bit cooler in September, but we're hardly talking Arctic conditions here. Camped at Dores before in Sept, and it was absolutely fine. I would suggest a half decent sleeping bag though.
Comfy Bean
Have always fancied trying this so hope it manages to carry on. I would agree with those pointing out that it would likely be well cold camping at night in September. Was at the BigStooshie in 2012 early May and we had hailstones ! Had to sleep in the car and a few folk struggled with how cold it got. For me it`s got to be June, July, August in these parts although we all know the weather can be shit at anytime up here. rossm18
Think it's safe to say if rockness was on the same weekend this year that foals would headline since there headlining park life in Manchester who we shared 2 headliners with last year. There other headliner would be interesting though, snoop dog haha
cambyman
Still no announcement then? I think it's safe to say there will no rockness in 2014. Will it return in 2015..? I don't think it will.
DomDom1984
Some conclusion jumping of the highest order there, considering it wasn't long ago they were talking about the date shift.
Paul ™
Am not sure anyone official confirmed about a date move. The date move part came from 'an insider' An insider said: “RockNess 2014 is absolutely not dead in the water but a suitable date hasn’t been agreed on yet. “It might be on held later in the year, maybe in September.”
eFestivals
yeah, i've already pointed out that the Rockness statements could just as easily refer to a festival next year as they could this year.
KeithDelBasso
I wouldn't have minded if they were taking a year off this year. Obviously sales have went down and there is so much competition these days with other festivals so it's going to struggle. The thing that has really fucked me off, not for the first time, is the non-existent communaction to the public of what is happening. It's almost as if they've just hoped if they stay as quiet as possible, people will forget. They've shown so much disregard to the fans who have been to this great festival countless times. eddiepolio
Think we've decided to move on to Kendal Calling. Gutted but suppose nothing lasts forever :-(

pothead pixie
C'mon guys and gals keep it lively, if Jim King see's no one commenting they might not bother with the festival at all, there might still be an announcement. Only Longitude has announced in Ireland so far, Forbidden Fruit which happens the week before RockNess hasn't announced anything yet and many festivals don't get announced till March. Hang in there, keep the speculation coming.
Chiefski
I'd imagine if it was still on and around the same date, we would have got a lineup similar to Parklife http://www.parklife.uk.com/lineup.php

rossm18
It's not on and I'm sad about that but what is annoying is that if it isn't on they haven't made an announcement telling people
Sophie G
I will be so devastated and Pi$$ed off if rockness is cancelled this year, talk about leaving us hanging.... PLEASE ROCKNESS GIVE US AN ANNOUNCEMENT ASAP.... What are other good options apart from T in the park? Have never been to any others in the Scotland/England apart from Rockness. eddiepolio
After 6 years at rockness we've all defected to Kendal Calling in the lake district. Expecting it to be like rockness 5 years ago. It's also 1 hour closer (I live in Edinburgh) and about 70 quid cheaper.
viberunner
Agreed for Kendal Calling. That said, KC's late-night dance tent is pants. Utter shite. Shite decor. Shite vibe. And (mostly) shite tunes. And lots of shouty northerners with their t-shirts off forming a ring and pushing each other. A version of "Sub Club in a field" it is not. :-) Rest of KC is really great though.

pothead pixie
They are taking the piss at this stage, where the hell is Jim King? He was always great for communicating on here. Can someone not force the festival organisers to release a press statement about what is happening.
