I'm starting to think they don't want fleetwood mac anymore...

I think Elbow, Prince And Kasabian will headline glastonbury 2014. I think Arcade Fire will sub, call me crazy but they aren't big enough.

Here comes the backlash. If they subbed prince, that would be an amazing top two!

Wow can't believe what I'm reading in this thread. Glastonbury is a place for exception, for people to be themselves, for variety... apart from if you like bands that use distortion then you can fuck right off you jumped up little pricks!

I don't think anyone is asking for fear factory, lamb of god or slayer, i think people just believe a few slightly heavier bands would go down well, as they have done in the past.

Metallica are the worst band i've ever seen live by the way, they're dogshit!

But Iron Maiden at Download this year was amazing, they would smash a pyramid set and everyone would enjoy it, they are lighthearted, great fun live, brilliant showmen, as well as being a fabulous live band. They have 4 or 5 songs most people will know the chorus to and the rest of their songs are really simple and catchy and you'll be singing a long by the second chorus.

My girlfriend is into a lot of pyramid stage stuff, as well as some heavier music but she wasn't looking forward to Iron Maiden at all at download, and she LOVED it! Had a big smile on her face throughout, singing along by the second chorus of every song, laughing at bruce's banter, amazed at them flying a spitfire over the stage and the rest of their awesome stage show. They were her favourite band of the weekend, despite finally seeing 3 doors down who have been her favourite band for years!

So yeah long story short, i don't want the METALZ on every stage, but i think a few bands, just like we have now should stay and maybe we could one day have a 'heavier' headliner

People aren't against those while like heavy rock/metal, I think people get angry with willutalk because it's all he ever fucking goes on about. Suggesting a 'heavy' day on the Pyramid is daft.

There are well documnted reasons why the festival stayed away from that type of band (or more specifically that type of band who would gather a large crowd of people) and while it the festival continues to have smaller, tamer elements than you would get at Download or certain parts of Reading it's always going to be interspersed with stuff you would never get at those two, because that's the festival's identity and culture. You wouldn't start crying out for The Saturdays to play Download or Reading or SOAD to pop up at V.

I was saying that some of the more more 70's influenced/Desert/Stoner bands would fit around the place somewhere without too much of an issue. The Sword, Elder, Fu Manchu, Royal Thunder etc.

Then again the festival has more line up issues than that to worry about.. like the John Peel stage turning into the NME/Radio1 tent and the real John Peel type acts ending up on William's Green stage.

Headline wise, it is always interesting, but it doesn't really matter :D

I bet Elton John would fill out that arena like you wouldn't believe :girlhaha:

I wish people would stop going on about Daft Punk, it's getting boring. Heard it everywhere I went this year, no one could accept the fact that they weren't playing. If they play next year then they play next year but seriously, can't we get a bit creative and start thinking up someone different to headline?
