dentalplan
spot on. Sell out or not, eavis needs to pick the right bands. All 3 this year had decent enough crowds. People at bestival would adore depeche mode and its a payday. A certaim selection would at glasto
thewayiam
I don't think they would. IOW would be more fitting plus 'Bestival' and 'payday' don't often get packaged together.
blue6field
Elbow played to a tiny crowd at T last year as thousands stood for hours to watch nicki Minaj come on late and then do 4 songs Sums up the current T goer! Doubt very much elbow will be a main stage headliner at T
BlackHole2006
i wish i had it too but he'd wrong unfortunately. no one i know who goes cares whether the headers are to liking or not. a ticket is like a lottery win
Sketchead
Disagree with this. I reckon the sole reason tickets sold out so quickly is because of The Stones rumor. I know that on these forums it was just a rumor BUT to joe public they were pretty much a dead cert at the time of the T-Days. Yes, T-Day is still going to be a hectic piece of shit but it will be no where near as harrowing as trying to get tickets for this years Glasto

ProperTea
Does anyone know why efests have chosen to spill what they know so early this year? In previous years (see fourth headliner) they have been quite happy to withhold what they know, so this development worries me - are they revealing what they know to be the case now and cutting off the chance of ever knowing anything in the future? neilloggie
Now I know why download doesn't ever sell out. Metal fans go to non metal festivals instead and complain about the lack of metal like they have a right too...

Buff124
Village rumour mongers have prophesied that FM are on the radar, and that someone had a convivial and perhaps persuasive chat with John Paul Jones. Who knows ?
GlastoSoon
So do people really think if it's well known (won't be officially announced will it?) the headliners are Fleetwood Mac, Elbow and Depeche Mode it'd be easier to get tickets than say 2011 for U2, Coldplay and Beyonce? Or 2013 when it wasn't quite sure? Ticket day is generally a nightmare for me regardless of line ups released etc.
ThomThomDrum
Ticket day is going to be manic. Worst one ever I reckon. Glastonbury's popularity is still on a major up irrespective of who is playing/headlining........... I would love for this headliner info to affect the demand in a favorable way for us to secure our tickets but I fear it will have 0 affect..........in fact it may make it more difficult as die hard DM & FM fans who may not have been thinking Glasto may put themselves in the pot now as they know such gigs are potentially ledgendary

rexclark
I'd definitely go see Fleetwood Mac and perhaps Elbow but I doubt I'd go see Depeche Mode. Still if that is the headliners it's pretty solid.
daniel.k
Apart from Prodigy who do people think could be good Other stage headliners? Not too familiar with what sort of act would do it but I personally wouldn't see any of the pyramid headliners for 2014 if the 3 are true. I'd like someone like Florence and the machine or something maybe

ThomThomDrum
If Elbow and Depeche Mode are announced to headline before ticket day it'll put off a lot of people who go just because it's trendy (i.e the younger Reading/Leeds/V goers). It'll still be a nightmare but it will definitely put people off.
lukemack
3 of each, Elbow seem to be the only nailed on atm though Pyramid - Elbow/Fleetwood Mac/Led Zep/Lady Gaga/Daft Punk/Kanye West Other - New Order/Bloc Party/Arcade Fire/Florence & the machine/ The Prodigy/The Black Keys Edited July 6, 2013 by lukemack
