I'll be there! I saw him there on the Skeleton Tree tour and it was great, so no fears about the venue here. Hopefully the security isn't too tight to get in as I'll be smuggling rum in my undies.

Really, really REALLY hoping he plays every Wild God song. I've avoided all YouTube clips but I'm certain they'll be sensational live.

Ooh rum. Good shout! I absolutely love the whole album!

Heard Final Rescue Attempt has been tried in a few different versions, so curious to see if it has stuck now.

Love that song, and the meaning of the song is very moving.

Susie riding through the rain to rescue him from... something. Wonderful stuff.

I also love Long Dark Night. Hopefully that's just played the same as the album.

I really cannot wait for this gig.

Hopefully the 'hits' - into my arms, red right hand, weeping song etc - are kept to a minimum. But i know he has to placate the part timers.

Anyone else going to O2 next Friday? I hate o2, feels like the food hall in a shopping centre but just had to see him

Couple of us also going - cannot wait & first time back the O2 since seeing Prince there about 16/17 years ago!

However just seen the news about the tube strike which is an arse - anyone taken the boat there in the past (from Waterloo direction). I assume it will be rammed and they have said to book in advance

Thanks for the heads up. I have booked the boat from embankment and they offer a boat after the gig back which i have booked. Not what I wanted to spend but actually might be a lovely journey to and from

Not sure why I had reason to doubt the man, the myth, the legend. Top five gig of the year, hands down.

Think a general agnosticism towards Wild God left me concerned that a show so heavy on it could potentially sink under the weight. Ye of little faith indeed.

From Her to Eternity absolutely rollicking, Long Dark Night and Joy both transcendent, I Need You overwhelming.

Jubilee Street one of the live stonkers of our time.

Spot on. I missed the backing vocals in I need You, the verse of Wild God still hums, but otherwise great. Perfect crowd interaction - as if warming up for a bigger stage...

Loved the pulsing new arrangement of Weeping Song and yeah, Long Dark Night and Conversion highlights of the new stuff for me. Excellent.

Very few songs there that didn't sound better live than compared to Wild God itself. The four-gospel chorus really leans into it - which begs the question why There She Goes, My Beautiful World has been cast away from the festival run the other year, given it would be perfectly geared for such a performance.

The modified live tempos and arrangements on From Her to Eternity and The Mercy Seat really helped connect me to them. On raw points, it probably comes up just shy on the whole from the Skeleton Tree show I caught in Manchester, but will say that the two versions of those songs were stronger for me for the night. (Cave/Bad Seeds in Manchester '17 is probably knocking on the door of my all-time top-ten shows though.)
