Yoghurt on a Stick
The Appliance is a Volvo FL6-14 /Carmichael -Convoy Support vehicle of the RAF and was manufactured in 1990. Ok Lets identify this vehicle. Its not a Water Tender or a Green Goddeses Grandson, it is a CONVOY SUPPORT VEHICLE,note there are no ladders or ladder gantry, its job was to be part of a convoy that carried Nuclear Weapons, or heavy munitions on the public highway it was part of a large convoy including MOD Police vehicles the munitions vehicle/s,it would always be at the back just in case of an accident or fire,To try and photograph this vehicle while in a convoy would result if in a vehicle a visit by your local Police(or a search by the Police in the area where you took the picture or if on foot being stopped by one of the Police outriders who were part of the convoy.) Yoghurt on a Stick
YHS151H Strathclyde Preserved WrE This appliance was new to the Western Area Fire Brigade in 1970 - it was the last wheeled-escape carrying fire appliance ordered by a Scottish fire brigade -and it was stationed at Port Glasgow. It passed to the newly formed Strathclyde Fire Brigade in 1975 and in the same year it was transferred to F23 Rothesay on the Isle of Bute where it stayed until 1981 when it joined the brigade reserve fleet in 'E'Division. It then became a demonstration appliance at B6 Cambuslang and was taken over by the brigade's Preservation Group in 1995. Bob Wright would be able to provide more details - the group's website is: www.ayeready.org
