The Appliance is a Volvo FL6-14 /Carmichael -Convoy Support vehicle of the RAF and was manufactured in 1990.

Ok Lets identify this vehicle.

Its not a Water Tender or a Green Goddeses Grandson, it is a CONVOY SUPPORT VEHICLE,note there are no ladders or ladder gantry, its job was to be part of a convoy that carried Nuclear Weapons, or heavy munitions on the public highway

it was part of a large convoy including MOD Police vehicles the munitions vehicle/s,it would always be at the back just in case of an accident or fire,To try and photograph this vehicle while in a convoy would result if in a vehicle a visit by your local Police(or a search by the Police in the area where you took the picture or if on foot being stopped by one of the Police outriders who were part of the convoy.)

YHS151H Strathclyde Preserved WrE

This appliance was new to the Western Area Fire Brigade in 1970 - it was the last wheeled-escape carrying fire appliance ordered by a Scottish fire brigade -and it was stationed at Port Glasgow. It passed to the newly formed Strathclyde Fire Brigade in 1975 and in the same year it was transferred to F23 Rothesay on the Isle of Bute where it stayed until 1981 when it joined the brigade reserve fleet in 'E'Division. It then became a demonstration appliance at B6 Cambuslang and was taken over by the brigade's Preservation Group in 1995. Bob Wright would be able to provide more details - the group's website is: www.ayeready.org

This is 1931 Dennis Big under restoration. It is fitted with the Dennis Six cylinder side valve engine. It has a mid-mounted Dennis pump and carries an escape ladder. Originally supplied to the Fire Brigade at West Ham it later passed on to the Kodak film company works fire brigade. After leaving Kodak it has changed hands a number of times and has been a non-runner for at least the past 20 years. Very slowly it is starting to come to life again. Originally new to the New Zealand Hororata Volunteer Brigade, this is reported to be a 1961 Morris S3. Last owned by the Hurunui District Council & operated by the Conway Flat Rural Fire Party this tanker was subsequently privately owned although it has not been sighted for many years.
