Hi this is future Duck, you can tell I'm future Duck by my Future Beak (it's made of aluminium now)

I've just finished my weekend at Glastonbury and whilst the was SOME rain it was on the Tuesday evening and was just enough to soften up the ground for the tent begs on Wednesday

NFR NFC.

Woffy - I read ealier that you had set an alarm off etc on what is a presumably empty building. Just wondering if you are some sort of Building Surveyor. I only ask because that's what I used to work as, and in the course of which I also set off a few alarms in my time.

I've just finished my weekend at Glastonbury and there was some fresh but short-lived morning dew on the Tuesday and was just enough to soften up the ground for the tent begs on Wednesday, before the sun baked the ground solid and dry.

Hi Yog. Hope you're well.

Kinda.

Here's a post from last week when jeffie asked what i do (saves retyping):

I work as a Facility Manager looking after 97 various public sector buildings in the region; from office complexs to high Haz. Cat. buildings, like fuel stores, etc, council stuff, ancilliary support buildings for hospitals.

Buildings with people in are a pain in the fucking arse.

So, you know, part of our remit is to make office moves and accommodation changes run smoothly without wasting money, creating downtime and disruption.

Yet ironically we can't get our own shit in order.

Good pension though.

Today was an occasionally used medical centre I had to let some engineers in and out of.

The fucking intruder alarm - when reset - stayed in alarm for ages after i re-set it. I panicked, got all sweaty, re-opened the building, turned it off, turned it on again and prayed for the best, i.e. no embarrassment.

I buggered off sharpish and didn't hear anything. So i'm guessing it's fine!

The worst one's are testing fire alarms...and forgetting to let the local Squirters know it's a test beforehand, so they arrive sirens screaming just as you light up a fag.

So that's me. Not massively exciting stuff or as nice as Matt's job...but it pays the bills.
