Been to see Mark Thomas at the Hebden Bridge Free Trade Hall tonight. If you can get a ticket to see his 100 Acts of Disobedience tour, you really should.

Glorious sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. This will be good for all those going to the St Patrick's Day Parade today (if it's not already over). I've got to get myself to a gin tasting event at a hotel in the centre of Birmingham in a few hours. It was a gift from a friend, so although I feel knackered from last night's indulgences I've got to make the effort. I must also remember to try to stop drining when the event is over as I have a busy day tomorrow at work. I think we all know what's going to happen, don't we!

If I recall correctly Mark Thomas was interviwed by CI5 or CI6 to see if he'd work for them. Apparently he was the only person to respond to a riddle in one of the then broadsheets. He indicated that he turned them down. Has he, sufficiently? He's selling merchandise on his website. Is this an act of someone who needs funds to continue his journalism, or somebody we want to pay to sit in his bed, scratching his nuts, while making any old cobblers up. Because if it's the later then I was thinking of undercutting the price of his t shirts. I would also guarantee writing cobblers, which had no meaningful relationship with the external world. I know his got me on a technicality there, but I offer far more cobblers for your pound. Surely, that is something not to be sneezed at.

What does he write that you think is cobblers? Arms trade is a corrupt use of public cash? Michael Gove is a test? The police keep files on people that they consider a domestic threat?

What makes you think he sits in his bed? Do you make any effort to change the status quo? Or just mumble on here?

No worries, sorry he's one of the few comedians/political commentators that I have time for. Even the merchandise in his website has a purpose. The CD is the show he wrote about his dad who he obviously loved to bits, and was as a result of requests. He doesn't do tour dvds and the like at all.

I get you jeffie. I never even looked into the content of the cd and dvd's. I think I was more trying to get a bit of fluffy shit out of my own mind than I was having a pop at the bloke. If I'm honest I'd say that I'm probably just jeleous of the fact that I can't take that many minutes of listening to him. I just tend to either wander of in my own mind or actually fall asleep. That said, this happens 100% with every politician I see get interviewed. With the politicians it's their drivel that makes me turn off. They are all the same bar very few. They'd do anything to self promote. Some of them die of asphyxiation with an orange in their mouth. Now, if they'd just been as interesting in real life I may have been able to take credence with their political stance. See what a politics slag I am?

What a cracking weekend! I did a bit of birdwatching out the back of my house, saw a pair of jays, loads of tits (finbarr!), magpies, wrens, and lots of squirrels. Very nice.

I'll take yesterdays weather as festival weather please!
