TiTP's initial poster for the undercard is normally a bit off with some acts. Elbow could be headlining the R1/NME stage prehaps?

Looks that way. It's probably a better slot for them than subbing the main stage, as they didn't get a great reception when they subbed Kasabian in 2012. They'll likely get a better crowd on the Radio 1 Stage.

Well we basically knew they would be there but they will not be headlining like we thought they may, way back in July

Pyramid will be pretty busy with them into Arcade Fire

I wonder if AF will try get people to dress up in fancy dress? Would make for a strange view for Mr Garvey and Co if embraced on mass

How were they?

I only caught the end of One Day Like This after I left Interpol. I guess the times were all fucked up because of the weather delay as I was planning on only missing 15 minutes of the set once Interpol had finished. I honestly lost all track of time that day. Did Elbow play a shorter set or did Interpol come on later?

I know people on here hate it but lippy kids sounded really good. I was having a lash in the urinals at the back of the field when they started playing it, and I was absolutely singing my heart out, then waltzing around the field to my mates. The rest of the set was pretty dishwater though

Felt it was a little flatter than 2011, maybe because they were slightly rushed due to the rain interruptions earlier but Garvey didn't have so much time to interact with the crowd.

Genuinely wish they'd remember they have some great music before TSSK

Received this email this morning about some new Elbow dates. The paragraph which caught my attention was the last paragraph, announcing they would be playing older and rarer stuff from their back catalogue. Sounds interesting, I would love to know what older stuff they will be playing. Might give it a go if I knew how much older stuff they will be playing and from which albums

... I wonder if the Seldom seen Kid now counts as 'older stiuff' being 6 years old now!!! Shudders at the thought, clearly they are referring to even older stuff because they are still playing lots of SSK at there recent gigs, and Glasto of course.

"We enjoyed our theatre tour of the States and Canada this summer so much that we decided to do some at home. There is something magic about the history of old theatres and doing residencies in these lovely buildings means we can be playful with the staging.

"Also the band often discuss how great it would be to play older and rarer songs of ours alongside the ones we are best known for. We are also hoping for a range of excellent guests and are really excited about these shows."

- Guy Garvey"

These might be the last set of shows we see from them for a long time, I'm not really sure where they go from here as a band.

They'll plod on making pleasant albums that won't set the world on fire I guess, although I read somewhere that Guy has a solo album in the works.

These shows look promising anyway.
