Yeah but the news about them doing 40 festivals claims they'll be the marquee act at those festivals, so doesn't increase their chances at all of playing a non-headline slot at T.

40 festivals worldwide, they can't expect to be headlining all of them...

I think it just means they are playing more than 40 festivals (high slots) in 2014.

Think they'd be a great R1 headliner. Can't say I'm a huge fan, but I like most of the stuff I've heard from them. Would make for something a wee bit different.

Why would you doubt that? Most of the 40 will probably be in America where they are definitely a headline band. There are festivals in the UK they could headline outright (Wireless, Bestival, perhaps IOW at a push) and a T would get away with them either as this co-headliner or amongst a strong set of headliners (so, Arctics). That leaves Europe, where its pretty easy to pluck out a few festivals where they'd headline.

Nah not at all.

I remember Paramore saying on their facebook they were headlining the friday of reading and they were subbing.

Headline shows are probably in the US / some in europe but I won't be surprised if this (yet again) is people reading too much into it. Possibly because they are still convinced that OutKast playing anywhere is an impossibility. I won't be surprised if they are everywhere this year.

Those are (excluding bonaroo & lolla) the biggest festivals in america.

Coach & Lolla are normally in competition with each other as they are both compared every year. I can't imagine lolla would get their #1 act.. unless lolla forked out a lot of money...

If Outkast do become massive here and make this year almost theirs like Daft Punk did last year that's fine by me. Gotta make up for lost time

I would take OutKast over Avicii or Calvin Harris anyday, but would they class under electronic?
