foolee
I know what people are saying about T not being the place for them now but if T improved the lineup and made those changes that made everyone used to go to the festival it was surely Arcade Fire would fit in? A couple of years ago they wouldn't have looked out of place on the lineup...
frankblack
To be honest, I think Arcade Fire are one of the few bands I'd rather see on their own terms than at T, said Edinburgh Gig was amazing. a_n_other
I was also at that gig, and got pretty much right to the front. Stunning performance. If T wants to be considered as a serious festival again it needs to book acts like Arcade Fire as headliners and ditch their trend in manufactured and auto-tune pop acts. Stuart1000
Johnny Borrell and Razorlight subbing didnt look out of place in 2007 either (or in 2009 for that matter). His solo album sold 594 copies last week. Times change.

frankblack
It was very good, the band were brilliant, and the setting was amazing with the castle in the background but I felt the crowd were very flat which was a bit disappointing. a_n_other
Yes they do!but arcade fire will sell more than 598 copies of their new album and headline many many festivals. Razorlight were always pish
thewayiam
Wouldn't goes as far as that dude, but they were never any more than an average indie alternative band.... Arcade Fire are a different matter and would be a stunning booking. One I think GE will not make though.
devilman
Given the further trend in T regulars staying away and the financial climate I think T will have to diversify again. Almost run a separate festival within the festival for the old timers. They could make a tent themed with acts that would attract the old biffs. I'm convinced that the unsold tickets this year could easily have paid for a rock headliner and some decent undercard acts. The ceilidh tent was always rammed whenever I went in there and it has gone although I'm not sure it brought people to the festival on its own, it certainly complimented the overall experience. Comfy Bean
I realise that no-one on here believes the pish coming from T but do you think they might alter their position of blaming the recession on poor ticket sales now that Belladrum and Wickerman have sold out ( Wickerman for the first time in it`s history ). foolee
I think T could still make that booking(Arcade Fire), they just need to get there heads screwed back on like they did a couple of years ago. They can keep some of the pop acts, theres a place for it, but the festival as a whole needs to just be diverse! Completely agree with this and T definitely have a potentially cracking festival for everyone! This year I had a cracking time and the festival is set up well and brilliant for anyone to enjoy. Just add a good lineup into the mix and it'll be back as one of the biggest and best festivals in the UK and Europe.

Pokeybumwanker
Oh yes. The Levellers in the Pet sounds just after Xavier Rudd (who was also quite good) remains one of my best festival experiences ever. Just awesome. Andre91
I've just caught up with the thread. My guess at headliners is Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys and Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake co-headlining like they did at Wireless under their 'Legends Of The Summer' schtick. The Prodigy, Paramore & Bruno Mars as subs too.
