Just had a wee look into the whole biffy/calvin thing & noticed this:

Biffy Clyro will headline the Friday night of next year's Isle of Wight Festival with organisers saying the Scottish trio are appearing as an English festival exclusive.

Also confirmed for Friday is DJ Calvin Harris, who will be closing the night after Biffy's headlining set, with special guests Rudimental completing the acts announced for the main stage on Friday.

With it not saying they're a UK exclusive i reckon they're a shoe in for T now! I also reckon my bro could be spot on with the prediction of them headlining then calvin harris finishing things on the saturday night.

It's not at any point said that they're both electronic acts as far as i'm aware? could be wrong but can't remember reading that anywhere.

None of them are huge international acts? lol you been asleep the last couple of years? Calvin Harris is huge worldwide & has been for the past 2-3 years!

And i know that it was published at the start of december & that it's " old news ". I just didn't realise there was a cut off point to have an opinion on things.

I think it's best we dismiss these "facts" we've been given and just wait patiently for the February announcement. We really don't have that much info, except being 99% sure Biffy will headline and that there will be co-headliners on the Saturday, one of these being Electronic.

Hi everybody ! I am new here and I have some questions about this fest as i'm planning to go there this summer, but still waiting for more names in the line up !

- when are the tickets sold out ?

- what can we bring in the campsite area ? Alcohol, food ?

- is it possible to bring alcohol in the festival area ? Or is it easy to get inside the festival area with alcohol hidden under clothes or the security is vigilant relative to that ?

-What are the prices for 0,5 L beer and for food ?

- Are there any parties in the campsite after all concerts are over ?

- Is there a long walk between the festival area and the campsite ?

Thank you for your answers !

Haven't been for a couple of years so things might be slightly different but:

1. Tickets probably won't sell out til very late if the last couple years are anything to go by. Will probably depend how strong the lineup is.

2. Alcohol is fine so long as it's not in glass. Food is fine as well. Don't think you're allowed camping stoves or anything like that but people tend to get them in anyway.

3. Not allowed to take alcohol into the arena. People always do tend to smuggle it in though. If you think you can hide it well and don't mind getting them confiscated then you could always try it.

4. I think last time I was there it was roughly £4 for a pint, maybe just under. I'd imagine it'll have gone slightly above that now. Food tends to be roughly £5 for a cheeseburger and chips or something like that. Healthy T tends to have better stuff, and usually a wee bit cheaper iirc.

5. I think there might be organised stuff in the campsite til about 2am. But there will always be folk partying throughout the night that will be more than happy to have you join in!

6. The walk from the campsite exit to the arena entrance isn't too bad. But obviously depends where you are camped. The campsite is massive so if you're at the other side it can be a hefty walk.
